CDRI is seeking a qualified and motivated professional to serve as IT Systems and Support Officer. This role combines strategic IT oversight with hands-on operational support to ensure the institute’s systems, networks, and digital services remain secure, reliable, and efficient.
- IT Systems and Network Administration (40%)
- Oversee the overall management of the IT unit.
- Develop and execute a roadmap for IT infrastructure that supports the company’s expansion in the real estate market and long-term operational requirements.
- Administer and maintain local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN/Firewalls/VLANs), server administration (Windows/Linux/VMware, VPS), and security/CCTV systems), VPNs, and server environments (on-premises and cloud-based).
- Manage Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, and other related platforms, and administer the websites and library system.
- Manage the setup of IT infrastructure at new construction sites, ensuring project offices have stable internet, hardware, and communication tools.
- Implement robust cybersecurity protocols and maintain regular backup systems to protect sensitive financial and land development data.
- Monitor IT security systems, including antivirus and firewall protection, conduct vulnerability checks, support IT audits, and ensure secure access and data protection.
- IT Operations and User Support (40%)
- Provide day-to-day IT support to staff on hardware, software, connectivity, and system access issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, email services, and user account management.
- Provide technical support for research activities, fieldwork, and other programme operations as required.
- Set up and support IT systems for meetings, training sessions, workshops, and conferences, both online and in person.
- Assist in maintaining standard operating procedures, user guidance, and IT operational documentation.
- IT Inventory and Technical Training Session (10%)
- Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including procurement, inventory, maintenance, and disposal.
- Maintain networking relationships with software and hardware vendors to support procurement and service delivery.
- Support the administration of supplier contracts, subscriptions, and service agreements related to IT products and services.
- Provide practical training and guidance to staff on the effective use of software, hardware, and IT procedures, including new tools and system updates.
- Capacity Development (10%)
- Participate in relevant IT training and professional development activities.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, cybersecurity risks, and IT best practices relevant to the institute’s work.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Master's Degree is preferred
- At least of relevant professional experience in IT systems administration, technical support, or a similar role for 5 years
- Solid knowledge of networking, server administration, cybersecurity, and backup systems.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and cloud-based services.
- Familiarity with enterprise applications, databases, and IT asset management processes.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
