IT and Administration Officer

Position Summary

Contract length: Unspecified Duration Contract (UDC).

Role purpose

The Administration and IT Officer ensures timely support for administration, office management (30%), and IT systems (70%) at the country office (CO) and extends this support to project and field offices. Key responsibilities include providing office and administrative support services, overseeing IT systems and network operations, offering helpdesk and troubleshooting support, ensuring IT security, and performing data/information backups in accordance with SCI standards and procedures. Additionally, the officer is responsible for capacity building. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder is expected to work outside the normal role profile and adjust working hours as needed.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly such participate in the emergency response team and carry out responsibilities outlined in the ERT Operation Platform and/or assigned by the line manager.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent
Work History:
  • Professional experience in the field of Information technology with a solid skill of system/ network administration for 3 years as a minimum
  • Practical experience in office administration, office management, and/or administration related roles and road safety management for 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Certification of Office Administration or Public Administration
  • Certification of Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) is a plus
  • Demonstrate working experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012/ 2016 and its network services such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Print Server, File Server, WDS, WSUS, Microsoft Office 365 configuration as well as its collaboration tools
  • Ability to train end-users the use Microsoft Office 365 features
  • Technical knowledge in Virtualisation environment (Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware)
  • Technical knowledge of cloud computing on Azure, AWS
  • Demonstrate working experience with switch, router, VPN, firewall and PABX configuration i.e. on MikroTik, FortiGate…
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English

  • Ability to plan and organize a substantial workload that includes complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities in both development and emergency contexts
  • Strong, flexible, collaborative interpersonal skills with the ability to lead during through periods of change analytical, with demonstrated ability to make difficult decisions
