Heifer is strengthening value chain systems and delivering innovative, environmentally friendly agricultural solutions. Through partnerships with governments, the private sector, small businesses, non-profit organizations, and other entities, Heifer and its partners create unique solutions to local challenges, designed to build inclusive, resilient economies.
Heifer Cambodia:
Heifer began working in Cambodia in 1999, improving production and increasing incomes of smallholder farmers through backyard chickens and safe vegetables, while exploring opportunities in beef cattle value chains. Smallholder farmers in the country are organized into self-help groups (SHGs) and agricultural cooperatives (ACs), enabling them to access new markets and financing to scale their agribusinesses. SHGs receive various capacity building trainings as a part of Heifer’s Values-Based Holistic Community Development (VBHCD) model which helps them to unleash their potential. Heifer Cambodia’s project focus on increasing food security.
