Live & Learn Cambodia (LLC) is a locally registered non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to fostering a sustainable, equitable, and resilient society. Since its inception, the organization has operated with a dual focus on poverty reduction and environmental sustainability, recognizing that the well-being of vulnerable communities is inextricably linked to the health of their natural resources. The organization’s purpose is solidified in its Strategic Plan (2026–2030), which is driven by a vision where all Cambodians—regardless of their social standing—are empowered to lead their own development and manage resources for future generations. To actualize this, LLC’s mission is to empower communities through collective action, knowledge sharing, and adaptive learning. The organization operates on core values of integrity, transparency, and collaboration, ensuring that their interventions are not just top-down solutions but inclusive movements that respect local context and rights.

The core activities of Live & Learn Cambodia are structured around three ambitious strategic objectives designed to meet the challenges of the climate crisis. First, the organization works to strengthen community-led nature-based solutions, which involves implementing practical models for climate resilience that local populations can adopt and manage. Second, LLC fosters inclusive local economic and low-carbon development; this includes promoting renewable energy solutions and sustainable business practices that reduce environmental footprints while boosting local economies. Finally, the group focuses on enhancing community and household resilience. This activity goes beyond environmental concerns to address fundamental human needs, such as food security, water and sanitation (WASH), and gender equity, ensuring that families have the capacity to withstand economic and environmental shocks.
