Position Summary
The Investment Analyst will ensure the effective and successful delivery of CAPRED's capital market initiatives. The Analyst will serve as the central coordination point, providing technical expertise to potential issuers and working closely with government, local guarantors, and other stakeholders to contribute to the deepening of Cambodia's capital market.
This is a full-time position with attractive daily rate remuneration package being commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between CAPRED and potential bond issuers, lead managers/underwriters, bond guarantors (e.g., CGCC, CGIF, GuarantCo), government entities (SERC, CSX), and other relevant stakeholders.
- Perform detailed financial, technical, and commercial due diligence on relevant projects, supporting applicant companies and their proposed infrastructure projects.
- Analyze the financial viability and creditworthiness of potential issuers and their projects.
- Monitor the implementation and impact of CAPRED's initiatives.
- Maintain the ability to perform detailed analysis while also providing a broader strategic perspective.
- Promote innovative, practical solutions that align with stakeholder incentives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with public, private, and development partners.
- Negotiate, formalize, and manage partnerships to ensure effective delivery.
- Navigate uncertain situations independently and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compliance
- Ensure stakeholders operate within Cowater and DFAT-related codes of conduct and policies, including all inclusion-related policies such as Child Protection and PSEAH, antifraud and corruption, value for money, and other policies.
- Represent the domain or CAPRED in meetings or events with relevant stakeholders, as the Domain requires.
- Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team to assess the impact of the interventions and scale up successful initiatives.
- Work with the communications team to develop communications content.
- Ensure GEDSI principles are incorporated into intervention design and implementation.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to build synergies and enhance intervention effectiveness.
- Carry out other relevant tasks and activities as requested by the Domain management.
- Commitment to championing environmental sustainability and climate action across the Facility.
- English - Fluent
- Master's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CFA or CA is highly regarded.
- Proven experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, or capital markets, preferably within an investment bank, asset manager, development finance institution (DFI), or corporate advisory firm for 5 years as a minimum
- Demonstrable understanding of fixed income securities and the bond issuance process, including the roles of underwriters, guarantors, and regulators.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, with experience analysing project finance or infrastructure projects.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives and government officials.
