Role Overview:
The International Primary Academic Coordinator supports the implementation of the IPC and WAC to ensure high-quality teaching and learning. This role involves mentoring teachers, supporting curriculum planning, overseeing academic quality, and coordinating key school activities. The coordinator works closely with the Principal and staff to maintain excellence and provide students with a well-rounded, globally competitive education.
- Main Duties and Responsibilities (IPC)
- Act as substitute teacher when necessary
- Support Primary School teachers and Teaching Assistants in maintaining high quality learning and teaching standards
- Assist Principal in developing and customizing learning materials from the International Primary Curriculum
- Provide advisory and consultative support for the development and selection of textbooks, learning/teaching materials and other educational resources
- Support the planning, implementation and assessment of curriculum activities against the set goals
- Ensure all Primary curriculum activities are relevant, structured and meaningful, and conducted in a child-centered approach
- Oversee the conduct of academic quality assurance
- Support the monitoring and evaluation process of academic quality
- Assist with development and implementation of social media focused Primary activities
- Ensure that Bluebird’s Academic, Personal, and Communal standards are being met or exceeded by the Primary staff
- Assist Principal or Event Coordinator with Primary events, field trips and parties
- Proofread and ensure quality of Primary Term Plans and Parent Communications, including Term Reports
- Provide additional support for Primary students who need extra lessons
- Execute any additional duties assigned by the direct supervisor with professionalism and efficiency.
- Main Duties and Responsibilities (WAC)
- Attend the WAC orientation and training.
- Provide extensive support to Primary 6 teacher to uphold and continuously improve teaching and learning standards.
- Collaborate with the Principal to develop and customize learning materials in alignment with the Western Australian International Curriculum, ensuring they are tailored to meet the needs of students and teachers.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to Primary 6 teacher in effective classroom management, resource development, and capacity building.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation, and assessment of curriculum activities, aligning them with the set academic goals and ensuring they uphold global standards.
- Prepare Primary 6 students for international assessments, ensuring their readiness and success.
- Oversee the process of academic quality assurance, ensuring the institution's educational offerings consistently meet the highest quality benchmarks.
- Contribute to the monitoring and evaluation process of academic quality, continuously looking for opportunities to enhance and elevate the standard of education.
- English - Fluent
- Bachelor's Degree in education, teaching or related field
- Minimum of working experiences in the specific field for 2 years
- Excellent digital literacy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Mandarin Chinese for students of various age groups and proficiency levels.
- Develop and implement effective curriculum and lesson plans that meet the learning objectives and standards of the school.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and exams. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their language skills.
- Incorporate Chinese culture, traditions, and history into lessons to enrich students’ understanding and appreciation of the language.
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Work closely with other teachers and staff to coordinate activities and support students' academic and personal development.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding students’ progress, behavior, and achievements.
- Participate in school meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills and knowledge.

- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Chinese Language, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Native Mandarin Chinese Speaker with excellent command of both written and spoken Chinese.
- Be able to communicate in English.
- Previous experience teaching Chinese as a second language, preferably in an international school setting.
- Strong communication skills in both Chinese and English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
