GIZ is a federally owned enterprise and is supporting the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development.

The Digital & Green Innovation (DGI) project is a Team Europe Initiative which is designed to accelerate digital and green innovation/startups in Cambodia. DGI offers tailored support to innovators, facilitates multi-stakeholder policy dialogues, and organises targeted finance matchmaking events to foster collaboration and investment. DGI Cambodia’s main goal is to support the digital and green innovation in Cambodia and internationally with two main intervention areas and relevant supporting activities. The two main intervention areas are:

  1. Accelerator program for digital and green startups
  2. Regional stakeholders’ involvement in Southeast Asia

Position Summary

We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic full-time Innovation Support Intern to assist with project preparation and implementation related to entrepreneurship, sustainability, and digital development. The exact focus tasks can also be further discussed with the applicant based on their interest and adaptability during the internship. The internship will be based in Phnom Penh and has a duration of six (6) months, from February 01, 2026, until July 31, 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support the preparation and implementation of DGI activities planned for 2026.
  • Initiate and implement small activities aligned with the program with guidance and support from the DGI team.
  • Assist in communication and coordination with various stakeholders and partners.
  • Assist in making logistic arrangements for events and activities.
  • Assist the technical advisors in organizing and moderating meetings, training, and workshop organized by the program.
  • Assist the team in preparing communication materials for stakeholders and the public about activities related to DGI project.
  • Support monitoring project activities through data collection, data entry, and reports.
  • And assist in other administrative tasks that may arise.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Marketing, Development Studies, Communications, or related fields
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Khmer and English
  • Ability to use standard MS Office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
Soft Skills
  • Be a Cambodian national
  • Strong interest in digital innovation, sustainability, or social entrepreneurship
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Ability to perform tasks independently and as part of a team
