The Mines Advisory Group (MAG) is a humanitarian organisation clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide. MAG is co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize. MAG has been working in the field of Humanitarian Mine Action in Cambodia since 1992.

MAG is now seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced to fill the following position:

Information Management Assistant

Position Summary

Report to : Information Management Officer (IMO)

Staff Report to : None

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Main Duties and Areas of Responsibility:
  • Conduct QA/QC on all the data recorded and submitted daily to the MAG main database in the region through the Operation Management information System (OMIS) and flag the issues from operation teams in the allocated area to direct supervisor
  • Provided support for RTK to manage workload of tasks generated by CL teams through NTS requirements
  • Support on creating new CHA polygon as a result of CMTS in order to fill out relevant forms onto the IMSMA Ng of CMAA
  • Highlight issues with the data to direct supervisor and line manager
  • Design and/or produce map for operational purposes as required from FS/TFM/CL/FOC
  • Conduct QC on data recorded in the relevant department (CMTS/Clearance team) on the database within the region before created map operation
  • Summarise monthly statistics to manager when required
  • Follow up with Field Supervisors if any data process issues are being experienced or error (eg. A submitted report was not checked and approved)
  • Draft monthly operation progress report for initial info as required (FS/Admin/CL)
  • Be responsible for monthly tablet store and update
  • Provide IM-related training to the operation team
  • Any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor

  • Ensure familiarity with and adherence to all MAG policies and procedures and keep informed of MAG activities
  • Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
  • Undertake the role in a manner appropriate to the cultural context and within the local legal framework
  • On occasion, work outside regular working hours as circumstances dictate and required and as directed by your line manager.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Essential qualifications, experience and skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or strong experience with technology
  • Good knowledge of GIS
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong experience operating Windows office applications
  • Strong command of English
  • Willingness to learn and gain more qualifications as required for the job
  • Will work follows with the support calendar schedule. (Monday-Friday).
