Children in Families (CIF) organization is a non-profit and non-government organization which was founded in 2006 to support children to receive family-based-care in the community. The main goal of CIF is to place vulnerable children in loving families in order to enable them to become healthy, positive adult members of their families and communities. Currently CIF has six projects, Emergency Care, Family of ORigin as 1stPriority (FOR-1), Foster Care, ABLE (working with children with disabilities), Open Source Case-management and Record-keeping(OSCaR), and Holistic, Empowerment, Advocacy, and Learning (HEAL)Project. The FOR-1project supports biological parents or extended family members to care for children in a long-term placement in their homes. IGA Officer

Position Summary

Reporting To: Family-based Care Program Manager

Position Summary:

This position provides overall management of income generations activities within CIF with the big goal to ensure the target families/beneficiaries become financially independent and able to provide quality care for their children.

Position Objectives:

  • Ensure the quality process and result of Income Generation Activities among target families/beneficiaries.
  • Ensure the linkage of the produced product to the market
Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the development of the IGA strategy:
  • Mapping IGA actors/stakeholders at community and national level
  • Facilitate meeting with IGA actors/stakeholders at community and national level
  • Literature review of IGA document
  • Develop tools to be used in IGAs
  • Contribute to the development of IGA strategy for CIF
  • Manage the implementation of IGA activities:
  • Work with CIF field worker to identify the potential IGA beneficiaries
  • Facilitate meeting with potential IGA beneficiaries to select IGA activities according to the strategy.
  • Plan and facilitate the implementation of IGA activities
  • Facilitate trainings/exposure visit or other kinds of IGAs-capacity building activities for beneficiaries prior to the implementation of IGA activities
  • Support, Follow-up, Reflect and Report on the implementation of IGA activities
  • Identify market for the produced product and link the beneficiaries to the market
  • Build up the capacity of beneficiaries on “Marketing”
  • Partnership and Networking
  • Good cooperation with relevant stakeholders regarding IGAs
  • Connect beneficiaries to other sources of support or market place
  • Internally cooperate with CIF field workers and all projects within family-based care program regarding IGAs
  • Budget Management and Reporting
  • Quarterly report for each donor
  • Good understanding on budget by donor and correctively charge activities to donors
  • Good expense against approved budget
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Rural Development, Economics, Business, Marketing, or any other relevant fields
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IGAs
  • Sound experience in project management, budgeting and reporting
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel to and stay in the rural provinces
  • Ability to interact professionally with all beneficiaries, CIF team and those from external stakeholders.
 
 

Family Base Care Program Assistant

Position Summary

Report to : FBC Program Manager

Purpose of the Position

To provide financial, administrative and clerical support to staff and managers of family-based care program so they can give primary focuson social work with clients and other stakeholders.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • FINANCE SUPPORT
  • Assist Program Managerin preparing budget and budget revision
  • Review financial report to ensure the accuracy and made adjustment if needed
  • Review cash advance/reimbursement/settlement made by field staff and submit it to managers for further review and approval
  • ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLERICLE SUPPORT
  • Serve staff in purchasing needs to be made in Phnom Penh and the provinces
  • Coordinate monthly request of milk, diaper and other items and submit it to admin/finance department.
  • Coordinate the distribution of purchased items to all field staff and make report of distribution
  • Ensure that new policies and procedures are shared among staff within FBC program.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Complete high school with at least one-year relevant experience. Diploma degree in business administration is preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English both spoken and written and be able to operate MS office software like Word,Excel, Power Point and electronic mail programs.
  • Pro-active, reliable and attention to details, good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-cultural environment
 
 

Social Worker

Position Summary

Position summary : The Social Workerwill helptoimplement the project activities through providing direct social work support tochildren and families.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessment and initial intakesfornew clients using internal and government forms
  • Work closely with the localauthorities and other stakeholders in the process of family and child assessment
  • Enter and updateproper information in the case management system(OSCaR)
  • Maintain and update proper case filing
  • Recordclient’s information, complete Child Status Index (CSI) and write case notes
  • Strengthen collaboration and partnership with local authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders to seek more resource to support children and families
  • Support clientsto developcare plansandreviewregularly
  • Conduct monthly visits to clients
  • Provide training to families and children
  • Produce activity reportsand case studies
  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Commit to CIF’s Vision, Mission and Values
  • Comply with child protection policy and strong commitment to protect children
  • BA in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development or a related field, preferred
  • Have social work experience with children and families
  • Strong passion for preserving children with families
  • Good computer skills (Word and Excel, email and internet)
  • Strong oral and written communication in Khmer
  • Ability to speak and write in English is a plus.
  • Be willing to travel
  • Good communication skills
  • Be flexible and willing to work under minimum supervision
  • Commitment to continual learning and self-development
