The WWF-Cambodia conservation programme that started more than 20 years ago is implemented in 2 landscapes – Eastern Plains Landscape (EPL) and Mekong Flooded Forest (MFF) Landscape and built over the following 4 pillars of interventions: (1) Securing Landscape Integrity and Sustaining Conservation and Livelihood Development, (2) Freshwater and Sustainable Hydropower, (3) Protected Area Management and Conservation Research and (4) Sustainable Financing – Green Economy.

Position Summary

Join the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organization as Human-Elephant Conflict Field Assistant based in Mondulkiri, Cambodia, and together we can conserve our country’s rich biological diversity, through sustainable use of natural resources, and promote new opportunities for the benefit of all people, enhancing local livelihoods and contributing to poverty reduction in the Kingdom of Cambodia

The Human-Elephant Conflict Field Assistant (HECA)’ key responsibility is to ensure high-quality and cost-effective implementation of the Biodiversity Research & Monitoring programme in coordination with the Senior community & wildlife officer. He/she will assist the development and implementation of existing action plan under HEC and new data collection protocols, assist in collecting, verifying, and formatting/processing data, and in database management.

The position holder will also assist in supporting administrative, operational, HR, and financial tasks. Effective dissemination of research results that can inform management is essential, therefore the position holder will also support field communication with community and the preparing of field reports or other forms of dissemination, and coordination between different thematic/departments within the organisation and with external partners and stakeholders.
