House Parents Team Leader

Working hours : 8.00 am – 5.00 pm (follow monthly roster)
- PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
- Take part in designing annual implementation and budget plan.
- Designing monthly activities work plan and budget
- Creating new recording systems regarding children’s activities, schools, sports, health and other.
- COMMUNICATION
- Work closely with House Parents Coordinators, Social Workers team, Senior Finance Officer, Admin& HR Officer, doctors, teacher and other staff.
- Attend weekly management and Child Protection Committee meetings and monthly staff meetings
- Attend relevant meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Collaborate with HPC about working with Sunrise doctors for kids’ treatment and medical records.
- Take lead in the kids weekly meeting and send the agenda to management
- COORDINATION AND RELATIONSHIP
- Build and nurture effective working relationships with local authorities and other related agencies at province and community level.
- Build a strong sense of teamwork among program staff and ensure high quality communication between staff and with NGO partners.
- Coordination and understanding about hospital services before sending kids for treatment.
- Collaboration with HR to lead Staff Performance Appraisal processes for the house parents team including the annual appraisal, midyear review and regular 1:1 meetings, ensuring that the Performance Appraisal process (including the paperwork) is an integral component of Annual Work Plans and activities;
- Regular short daily verbal meetings with HPC about staff and kids’ issues.
- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to the house parents coordinator to ensure the house parents team follow the daily check-up and lead meetings 2 times per month.
- Take care and full responsibility for an assigned dorm group of older boys, staying in the room with them, enforcing Sunrise rules and regulations
- Make sure the boys keep their bed, toilet, clothes and bathroom clean and hygienic.
- Make sure, the boys attend school and classes on time and participate in various activities suggested and all the attendance reports are recorded.
- Staying in the boy’s dorm after office work.
- Collaborate with the HPC and storeroom manager to ensure that all the children are provided with necessary daily supplies such as hygiene materials, clothes, uniforms, bedroom materials, study materials, formula, napkin and other accessories for the special needs of each kid.
- Oversee the HPC about the monthly roster of all house parents and children.
- Take the lead in organizing and following up the cleaning schedule with house parents and HPC.
- Help schedule daily sport activities and ensure kids can assess all the materials.
- Working with house coordinators to schedule weekly/monthly fun activities for children.
- Take notes and report children’s health in the children’s health book.
- Work closely with Sunrise doctors and discuss individual kids’ health issues and report.
- Assisting children to stay at the hospital when we do not have enough house parents to fill the role.
- Working closely with social workers to ensure all children are registered in the yellow book/ Residence book and get NID card when they turn 15 years of age.
- Working with social workers to be sure all children are assessed each month at government school and Sunrise school.
- Finding out which children need to get counseling and arrange to meet with social workers or professional counselor.
- Working with social workers to meet with older children about further plans for study and career.
- Working with Social Worker team and taking part in opening kids suggestion box.
- Check children’s monthly pocket money for the residential care children.
- To be sure, all children have read and signed documents regarding rules/regulations and other.
- Assist AOM in annual trip and kids team building.
- Update children’s list and dorm list.
- Leading the house parent’s team to ensure all children follow the cleanup daily roster especially on the weekend.
- Collaborating with house parent coordinator in updating house parents’ roster
- Assist AOM in creating monthly training plan for RC kids.
- Taking lead of investigations and information detail about staff issues and reporting to AOM.
- Creating Staff JD and join a committee of new staff recruiting.
- REPORTING AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a monthly detailed report to AOM by the end of every month.
- Provide a Khmer report every 3 months to AOM and OM
- Provide 6 months Report for GDG to AOM and OM
- Collect reports from HPC, read and report to the AOM if there are any issues that management needs to know. All reports must be put in the folders in order and the database must be kept up to date at all times.
- Call the management when any child has an accident, faces abuse or when any other emergency occurs.
- Arrange for or provide training on necessary skills for house parents for capacity building (internal and external).
- Report all kids’ cases to social work team and take part in committee meetings and sharing back to the house parents’ team and children.
- Leading the team or kids to join activities if required.
- Lead the team to apply the phone use policy.
- OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Always maintain moral, just and professional behavior to be a good role model to the staff and children all the time.

- Comply with Sunrise Cambodia’s Financial, Personnel and Operational requirements, foster strong communication between operations and programs teams and uphold high standards of honesty and integrity in personal conduct.
- Khmer - Fluent
- English - Good
- Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology or related fields is highly desirable
- Experience in child welfare project implementation and monitoring
- Knowledge/ experience in kinship care and foster care project implementation
- Good at reading, writing and speaking English and Khmer fluently.
- Good skills at Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Passion, empathy, sensitivity, patience and a good understanding of children and their needs
