ISF Cambodia (ISF) is a Cambodian based charity with over 20 years of experience using education and sport to change lives. Our aim is to make a fundamental and lasting change in the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged children and their families in Cambodia.

Our Education Programme focuses on children in the slums of the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, whose extreme poverty means they have never gone to school or have had to drop out. We provide them with a quality education a whilend healthcare whilst working closely with their communities to lift entire families out of poverty. Through our grassroots Football Programme, ISF works directly with over 5,000 youth, promoting equality and providing opportunities to those marginalized by poverty, disability, HIV and gender.

Position Summary

The Head of Local Philanthropic Engagement (LPE) will lead strategy for ISF Cambodia’s local philanthropic engagement, contributing to organizational sustainability by developing diverse local funding streams, building and maintaining relationships among local supporters, and strengthening ISF profile. This includes facilitating local fundraising efforts, establishing robust systems for donor pipelines, and leveraging the Chief Executive social media platforms and presence.

  • Contract Type: Unfixed Duration Contract (UDC)
  • Employment Type: Full-time (7 hours a day plus ad hoc events as required)
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, 7 hours a day unless otherwise agreed with the Chief Executive.

Accountability and Relationships

Reports to the Chief Executive, working closely with other departments. Directly manages a team of two, providing strategic direction and performance management.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Local Fundraising & Philanthropic Relations:
  • Lead strategic planning for ISF’s local fundraising and philanthropic engagement efforts, in close partnership with the Chief Executive including individual donations, corporate giving, and grants and support the Chief Executive’s external engagement by reviewing companies’ CSR programs to identify alignment with ISF, and recommending follow-up actions for contacts met through networking and public events.
  • Lead the design and implementation of key LFR initiatives including charity events and campaigns, ambassadorship, and corporate/community partnerships, collaborating across departments and working closely with the Head of Programme to plan and run charity events, both on-site at ISF schools and off-site (e.g., the ISF Charity Run, Football Corporate Cup).
  • Identify and develop proposals for local funding and sponsorship opportunities, including corporate and foundation grants.
  • Identify new donors and build and maintain relationships with local corporations, high-net-worth individuals, partners, ambassadors, and key opinion leaders, to drive third-party fundraising and philanthropic initiatives.
  • Oversee the implementation of donor engagement and retention plans to strengthen relationships with both existing and new donors.
  • Collaborate with cross-departments to promote donor stewardship and deal with any donor relationship issue if it arises.
  • Actively participate in business networks or events that can result in new business relationships.
  • Manage monthly local income tracking and reporting, and maintain the donor database / tracking sheet.
  • Act as the primary contact for local fundraising inquiries.
  • Public Awareness
  • Lead in developing Local Branding Strategy to promote ISF profile and grow ISF audiences and supporters base, through Chief Executive’s channels.
  • Oversee the production and distribution of engagement and awareness content such as promotional videos, digital content, beneficiary case studies, and social media content ensuring it is compelling and impactful.
  • Draft press releases and pitch newsworthy stories, monitor local media coverage, and collaborate with media outlets, influencers, and KOLs to promote ISF’s profile and presence.
  • Act as the gatekeeper to ensure consistent branding across all communication materials for the purpose of engagement with local supporters.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
  • Directly manage and supervise the team, providing clear direction, and regular performance feedback.
  • Set individual and team goals aligned with the LPE strategic plan, and monitor progress against them.
  • Build team capacity through mentoring, delegation, and identifying training opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture within the LPE function.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Fluent
  • Khmer - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree
Work History:
  • Fundraising, marketing, communications, or related roles. for 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Fluent in Khmer and English (speaking and writing).
  • Proven experience leading or managing a team, with strong people-management and coaching skills.
  • Proficient in Google Suite (especially Google Slides), Canva and social media management.
  • Understand and able to overseeing engaging written and visual content for social media.
  • Experience in managing local campaigns and events.
  • Experience in fundraising or in a sales leadership role.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce.
Soft Skills
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Initiative and motivation to generate new ideas.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Cross-cultural adaptability and effective stakeholder management skills.
