Head of Academic is the key person who oversees the general operations of the academic department including academic team, head teachers, teachers, teaching assistants and student’s performances. He/she also involves in developing the school curriculum to provide the best of education to students. Here are the main duties of the Head of Academic
- Develop, oversee and implement KWIS’s curriculum and polices that are complied with school’s strategic plan.
- Develop training program regard to teaching technique and school curriculum
- Participate in the life of the school, including continuing professional development, performance management, school routines, duties and other whole school activities
- Develop all necessary teaching policies and guidelines and ensure they are kept up to date, working closely with other teachers, staff and the management
- Assess of students and provide appropriate feedback to encourage further improvement and progress
- Provide and promote the care, safety and well-being of the students with due regard for discipline, health and safety
- Monitor, evaluate and review classroom practice and promote improvement strategies
- Identify risk factors and report to the management with actionable recommendations
- Provide appropriate and basic first aid support as required
- Supervise and develop all teaching staff to achieve their highest professional standards and meet the requirements of learning and development as well as safeguarding and well-being
- Take lead in planning and manage teacher’s performance changes effectively
- Review teachers, TAs and other staff academic staff’ job descriptions and performance based on clear roles and responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure excellent functions of all the school classrooms, library, play areas, bathrooms and grounds
- Monitor compliance requirements and working to ensure that students receive the best outcomes, service and advice possible. (This is a ‘hands-on’ management position and requires an individual with a real sense of ownership towards the position and the school.)

Native English Teachers

- Regularly conduct and observe on students’ progress and ensure to reach academic year curriculum

- Supervision TAs and children during snack time, outdoor play, swimming and other activities

Teaching Assistant

- Assist the substitute teacher if the homeroom teacher is absent
- Substitute the other TA when necessary
- Keep students on tasks
- Motivate less focused students to participate
- Organized bags, clothes and milk supplies and note the student’s material name clearly.
- Make milk for students on time as instructed by parents or when students are hungry.
- Teach students to sing English, Chinese songs and dance.
- Speak English to the students and co-workers at all time
- Organize classroom items and supplies
- Supervise the students during lunch, break, and napping time
- Assist with pick up and drop off of children in the mornings and afternoons
- Inform the direct supervisor if parents drop off a sick child
- Inform the direct supervisor if the student seems to be sick during class time
- Take part in all trainings, meetings and other school events (as required) during the school year
- Keep the students’ classwork neat and organized
- Organize and arrange the student’s course books at the end of each term (Nursery to P1)
- Decorate the classroom for some special occasions
- Display the students’ work throughout the classroom and/or school
- Inform the school administrators and fill out an incident report form in case of accident/incident
- Help children with personal hygiene (wash hands, blow nose, shower, dress up…)
- Assist teacher with classroom preparation and daily needs
- Check every child’s temperature each morning (report to the school administrator if there is something wrong with the child)
- Check all medicine that enters the campus and confirm dosage with parents
- No violating students for any reason (neither verbally or forcefully)
- Write students’ names on all their belongings
- Check the student’s belongings properly when the students check in and before they check out
- Prepare homework/worksheets properly for the students into their bags before they check out
- Inform the direct supervisor if teacher doesn’t give homework as scheduled
- Collect homework/worksheets from the students and hand it/them in to teachers
- Check teachers’ attendance

- Control the student’s hygiene and make sure that the students and TAs themselves wear masks and wash hands more often

Graphic Designer

Graphic designers create visual text and imagery concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate customers. He/ She develops the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, leaflet, I-stand, X-Stand, and corporate reports. Here are the main duties of the Graphic Designer.
- Create engaging and informative content for various platform including website, social media and marketing material.
- Take high quality of photography and video to support marketing campaigns, events, and promotional materials. This may include capturing footage, editing videos and taking photographs.
- Design and create other school material including school posters, brochures, flyers, I-stand, X-stand, banners, leaflets, backdrop efficiently and accurately to promote the school brand and events.
- Prepare attractive materials for photo booths.
- Create and visualize the style and images for digital and printed content
- Handle school activities and events by taking pictures, recording video, and microphones recording
- Handle Parent Testimonial Video Recording
- Create the overall design for posting in school Facebook platform.
- Produce through works that follow school branding and marketing guidelines
- Manage a diverse portfolio, requests, and handle tight deadlines
- Test graphics across various media
- Amend designs after feedback from management team
