Shrewsbury International School Phnom Penh (SISPP) is "A School like no other in Cambodia". SISPP offers a British primary school-style education based on the National Curriculum of England for pupils aged 2 to 9 years old.

Our school is the newest member of the Shrewsbury family of schools to open for business, and our business is the 'serious fun' of learning. We are deeply connected to one of the most prestigious schools in the UK, Shrewsbury School, which is almost 500 years old and has nurtured distinguished alumni such as the famous naturalist Charles Darwin.

Our school opened for business in 2022 and this year our new, purpose-built primary school campus will open in a spectacular location by the River Mekong in Chroy Changvar in September 2024

Job Summary:

As a Graphic Designer at our school, you will play a key role in producing visually engaging and high-quality designs that showcase the school’s unique ethos, achievements, and community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to create impactful design solutions for a wide range of materials, from print publications to digital content, helping to elevate the school’s brand presence both locally and internationally.

Duties
  • Design Creation:
  • Design and produce a variety of visual assets, including brochures, prospectuses, newsletters, flyers, posters, and banners for both print and digital use.
  • Create engaging graphics for the school’s website, social media platforms, email campaigns, and internal communications, etc.
  • Design visual content for school events, academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and key marketing initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with the admissions teams and marketing team to produce high-quality design materials that align with the school’s branding and objectives.
  • Branding and Visual Identity:
  • Ensure consistency of the school’s brand across all design projects, maintaining high standards for visual identity and presentation.
  • Help develop and refine the school’s visual identity, making sure that all design work reflects the school’s prestige and values.
  • Ensure that all materials adhere to the school’s brand guidelines, creating designs that resonate with prospective parents, pupils, and the wider community.
  • Collaborative Projects:
  • Work closely with colleagues in the marketing, admissions, and events teams to understand design needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with photographers and videographers to produce multimedia content that complements the overall design strategy.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear and visually appealing graphics that support the school’s communications goals.
  • Content Creation and Editing:
  • Produce layouts for school publications such as annual reports, event programmes, and other materials for external and internal audiences.
  • Create bespoke graphics for presentations, ensuring they are professional, polished, and aligned with the school’s image.
  • Prepare and optimise images for print and digital formats, ensuring they are delivered in the required resolutions and specifications.
  • Project Management:
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of work that meets deadlines and exceeds expectations.
  • Take ownership of projects from initial concept through to final execution, providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain an organised archive of design assets and resources for future use.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably within an educational or similar environment.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design work, including print, digital, and branding projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) and other design software (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
  • A strong understanding of typography, colour theory, layout design, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience with web design and digital media, including knowledge of social media graphic specifications and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, polished design work.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across various departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A degree or qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred, but not essential.
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Familiarity with website design and CMS (e.g., WordPress).
  • Experience with content creation for social media platforms, particularly in an educational setting.
  • Understanding of print production processes and preparation of files for print.

Duties
  • Photography:
  • Capture compelling, high-quality images of school events, academic activities, extracurriculars, portraits, and campus life.
  • Organise and execute professional photoshoots for marketing materials, school brochures, websites, and social media.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and the marketing team to understand specific photo requirements for school campaigns.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in both photography and videography, ensuring the school remains at the forefront of visual content creation.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with the school’s marketing, admissions, and senior leadership teams to understand their visual content needs and objectives.

Requirements
  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a photographer and videographer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of work, including academic, events, and lifestyle photography.
  • Proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless cameras, video equipment (cameras, gimbals, drones), and professional lighting systems.
  • Expertise in industry-standard editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects.
  • A creative approach to visual storytelling, with the ability to capture both candid moments and planned compositions in a school setting.
  • Experience in editing, colour grading, and sound design for both still and moving images.
