Conservation International-Cambodia Program (CI) has worked in Cambodia since 2002. CI has multiple conservation projects in the Central Cardamom Mountains National Park (CCMNP), Tonle Sap Great Lake, Prey Lang Wildlife Sanctuary, and in the Veun Sai-Siem Pang National Park. CI works in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, other international conservation and development organizations, local non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

Announcement Positions

GIS Intern (1 Position)

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Generate GIS digital data, thematic maps, map layouts and other spatial products.
  • Collate and encode spatial data to facilitate data archiving, retrieval and processing.
  • Load and update GIS in existing databases using appropriate software. Secure data with appropriate backup procedures.
  • Develop maps and related data for inclusion in reports and publications. Ensure consistency with CI’s intellectual property rights prior to publication and/or release.
  • Assist in providing GIS technical input to planning, project development, report writing, and related activities.
  • Provide user support and technical assistance to LGUs, NGOs, and other partners as directed.
  • As directed, attend technical meetings, coordinate with partners, and perform related duties to help effectively exchange and disseminate GIS information to key decision makers.
  • Conduct natural resource and related data research and queries as directed.
  • Assist in implementation of SMART with law enforcement and community teams.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • College degree in forestry, geography, geographic information systems or natural resources preferred.
  • Coursework and/or work experience in geospatial analysis and database development.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and work cooperatively with internal and external partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient in GIS software, Microsoft Office or Google Docs.
  • Familiarity with software systems, terminology and procedures. Proficient in learning new software applications.
 
 

Community Consultation and Livelihood Interns (2 Positions)

Position Summary

The intern will assist the livelihood team in FPIC consultation, Sketch mapping, documentation, and other assignments.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • FPIC consultation:
  • Work with Community Livelihood Coordinator for meeting arrangement
  • Material arrangements
  • Meeting facilities: Snack preparation, attendant list, activity photography
  • Minute taking
  • Sketch mapping:
  • Work with Community Livelihood Coordinator for meeting arrangement
  • Material arrangements
  • Meeting facilities: Snack preparation, attendant list, activity photography
  • Minute taking
  • Documentation
  • Support Community livelihood coordinator to translate sketch mapping minute from Khmer to English
  • Organize relevant document
  • Any other work assignments, duties, and/or functions relevant to the overall project and internship.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • An interest in livelihood development, Natural Resource Management, Climate Change, Rural development.
  • Undertaking a relevant degree course (e.g. Bachelor in Agronomy Science, Natural Resource Management, Climate Change, Environmental Management etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
