General Manager (1 Position)

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The social enterprise (SE) is dedicated to providing local, safe and nutritious food products to health-conscious individuals while supporting the livelihoods of older local farmers and workers in the farming sector. The SE’s business plan, developed by an external consultant and endorsed by the donor, aligns closely with the vision and mission of HelpAge Cambodia.
The General Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the implementation of the business plan, contributing to the mid-term review, and ensuring the smooth execution of daily operations. Key responsibilities include shop management, monitoring financial performance, particularly sales, addressing challenges promptly with corrective actions as needed, and measuring the social impact of the SE's activities.
- Business Plan Implementation:
- Lead and facilitate the implementation of the strategic business plan (including the mid-term review), including B2C and B2C sale strategies and approach.
- Support HAC Executive Director and BoD in the MTR of the business strategy and plan of operation plans including operations procedures.
- Ensure and accountable for sales performance set for B2C and B2B and budget management. It includes setting and tracking sales target (daily and monthly), taking timely corrective actions, and timely reporting to the supervisor and relevant co-workers.
- Ensure and accountable for compliance of policies and regulations by suppliers, customers and relevant staff.
- Operations Management:
- Production
- Collaborate with Production Team in the development, mapping and regular update of the production database (including suppliers’ profile, category of products and cycle for production, capacity for production/quantity, quality of production/health risks, delay for freshness of products, mode of delivery, capacity for storage). This information is vital for an effective procurement plan and storage for products.
- Prioritize direct delivery from suppliers to customers and minimize stock in the shop to a reasonable amount for B2C (minimizing spoiled product, optimizing inventory, and packaging)
- Support relevant staff to plan, record and conduct quality assurance check of the products through regular spot checks and laboratory tests (from the source to the customers, and in the shop). This information is vital for the compliance with legal and safety guidelines of products and services.
- Sales and Marketing
- Lead and facilitate the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies and approach for B2C and B2B including sales target.
- Develop and maintain database to track marketing/sales progress and proposed actions
- Ensure timely and cost-effective modes of distribution to serve B2B and B2C customers (direct sale, external service delivery)
- Lead and organize products promotion, through the most effective social media platforms and ensure timely communication with customers for information and delivery mode
- Lead and organize products promotion for offline sales (in the shop, in relevant business events, e.g., farmer markets, business forums) and ensure timely communication with customers for information and delivery mode
- Ensure and accountable for attractive display of products in the shop (attractiveness, cleanliness, freshness)
- Ensure and accountable for all relevant staff compliance with customer-oriented services for B2C and B2B (e.g., refer to B2C customer-oriented service checklist: friendliness, knowledge and communication on products including traceability, benefits of products…)
- Accounting and Finance
- Ensure and accountable for tracking of expenses and sales against the expected target is communicated daily, and proposed corrective actions are timely taken
- Coordinate and manage daily accounting and financial operations, including tracking and updating inventory/products, and bookkeeping.
- Ensure that tax filing, profitability and solvency are timely and correctly addressed.
- Leadership and Staff Management
- Ensure and accountable for relevant staff understanding and performance for their respective job and responsibilities (provide regular feedback/guidance, training/coaching).
- Ensure each position knows and complies with their roles and responsibilities
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance
- Organize and facilitate regular staff feedback/coaching including daily/weekly feedback
- Arrange records and documentations to track follow up and appraisals
- Identify and engage relevant partners (government institutions, NGOs, or other institutions) in promoting interest in volunteering and in providing relevant technical support to improve staff performance
- Ensure and accountable for relevant staff, suppliers and customers full compliance with policies and regulations
- Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain ongoing communication, positive, and productive relationships with various stakeholders, such as HelpAge Cambodia, donors, suppliers, customers, media, and the community.
- Build and maintain solid and trust relationships with producers/suppliers and customers (B2C and B2B).
- Create and maintain B2B customers profile including type of business, spending capacity, products interest, preference, sales concluded, observations for improvement.
- On B2C, initiate and collect customer feedback monthly with the purpose of improving the sales performance in the shop
- At least complete a Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in business administration, social entrepreneurship, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in managing an SE, food business, or a similar structure
- Good understanding of market dynamics and customer requirements in the agricultural sector (including knowledge of food security, nutrition, and social justice issues)
- Knowledge of business processes and functions (finance, HR, procurement, operations…).
- Proficiency in Khmer and English languages
- Computer literacy and familiarity with social media, online platforms, and tools
