Bayon Education & Development (BED) is a Cambodian non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia under number 538 (March 23, 2015). Headquartered in Siem Reap, BED works to empower poor and vulnerable populations—particularly children, youth, and women—through access to quality education, vocational training, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Since 1997, BED has supported more than 1,500 children and youth from kindergarten to university. Since 2015, 237 disadvantaged young people (including 205 women) have benefited from professional training and career integration programs, notably in bakery & pastry and agroecology.

BED’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan aligns with Cambodia’s Education Strategic Plan (2024–2028) and contributes directly to SDG 4: Quality Education, while also advancing SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 3 (Good Health), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Position Overview

The Fundraising & Communications Officer plays a key operational role within the Fundraising & Communications department. Working closely with and under the supervision of the Head of Fundraising & Communications, this position supports the implementation of the fundraising strategy with a strong focus on:

  • Individual donors and sponsorship programs
  • Small and mid-level donations
  • Corporate sponsorship engagement and follow-up
  • Grant writing and reporting support
  • CRM and donor data management
  • Donor engagement and retention
  • Content support and impact storytelling

This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role suited to a resourceful and proactive professional who is eager to contribute to meaningful social impact.

Contract Conditions

  • Unspecific Duration Contract (UDC) with a three-month probation period, based in Siem Reap.
  • Working hours: 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Overtime may be required for events or special circumstances.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Individual Donor & Sponsorship Management
  • Manage day-to-day communication with individual donors and sponsors
  • Ensure timely acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and donation confirmations
  • Issue and track tax receipts in coordination with the finance team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records (entries, exits, donation history)
  • Build, structure, and continuously improve the donor CRM database
  • Monitor donor retention and engagement indicators
  • Corporate Sponsorship & Small Partnerships
  • Support prospecting and follow-up with small and medium corporate sponsors
  • Assist in preparing partnership proposals and presentations
  • Coordinate reporting materials (impact updates, photos, testimonials)
  • Ensure compliance with visibility and reporting commitments
  • Support relationship-building efforts to strengthen long-term engagement
  • Grant Writing & Reporting Support
  • Assist in drafting grant proposals, concept notes, and budgets
  • Support the preparation of narrative and financial reports
  • Collect and consolidate data from program teams
  • Ensure deadlines are respected and reporting standards maintained
  • Contribute to tracking funding pipelines and opportunities
  • Data Management & Strategy Implementation
  • Track fundraising performance indicators and donor data
  • Support implementation of the annual fundraising action plan
  • Monitor progress against targets for small donors and sponsorships
  • Contribute to the development of tools, templates, and processes
  • Ensure alignment between CRM data, accounting records, and reporting
  • Communications & Donor Engagement
  • Draft and coordinate donor newsletters and targeted communications
  • Work with the communications team to develop impact stories, testimonials, and field updates
  • Contribute to content highlighting partnerships and donor support (website, social media, print)
  • Support event organization (fundraisers, donor visits, school tours)
  • Represent BED at events when required
  • Contribution to Institutional Reporting
  • Support drafting sections of the annual activity report
  • Compile partner and donor-related information
  • Contribute to preparation of presentations and materials for the General Assembly

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer is preferred
  • English - Fluent

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in fundraising, communications, development studies, business administration,
Work History:
  • Relevant professional experience in fundraising, communications, partnership management, or related field for 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Experience with donor management or CRM systems is highly desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (Khmer is a strong asset)
  • Analytical mindset with comfort working with data and Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Proficiency in Canva; familiarity with CRM tools is an asset

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage diverse stakeholders
