About KCD

KCD is a non-profit, non-governmental, non-religious, independent local organization that registered in 2005 with the Ministry of Interior of the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia. KCD’s vision is a peaceful developing multicultural society, in which the genuine needs and rights of all stakeholders, regardless their gender, age, ethnicity, religious belief, ability or social status, are recognized, respected, and satisfied, in the respect of environment.

Since 2006, KCD has been implementing activities focusing on children's rights programs, peace projects Community Development project and nutrition. In Cambodia, KCD is one of the few grassroots organizations that integrate ethnic Vietnamese as a target group. With a lot of courage and perseverance, they stand up for their interests and lead young generations to an increased exchange and to the pointing out of the danger of stereotypes and exclusion.

About Forum Theatre Support Partners related to nutrition and climate change

Regional and country strategy: Vulnerable communities in SEA are adapted towards climate resilient, sustainable livelihood, enhanced employability, improved physical and psychosocial well-being, and reduced risk towards disaster.

If community-based Forum Theatre activities and strategies are implemented, then this will lead to the specific objective of strengthening resilience to climate change risks because of increased empathy, community empowerment, and collaborative understanding. Empowered communities are better equipped to address personal challenges and advocate for sustainable practices. When individuals collaborate and share knowledge, they collectively build resilience to climate-related impacts.

Forum Theatre Mentorship

Position Summary

Purpose and scope of Mentorship

KCD is implementing the activities of the project related women empowerment, Nutrition and Climate Change. This is the reason that KCD organize to Conduct Forum Theatre event in order to promote the understanding of Nutrition and Climate Change and also empower community people’s ability to address their personal challenge and advocate for sustainable practice. KCD is interested in engaging the consultant to assist with the preparation and technical support to KCD on conducting Forum Theatre event.

Task Assignment of Forum Theatre Mentorship services is below:

  • Providing Mentor to KCD team for working on Forum theatre including other social theatre forms and techniques to improve women
  • empowerment, nutrition and climate change.

Frequency of Mentorship

The mentor will require engagement with KCD for 4 working days in total.

Time Schedule

The completion of this work is expected to take over a period of approximately 3 months, during in June to September 2024 (to be confirmed).

Management

The mentor will be managed by the ED of KCD, Ms. Sokha Chan, on behalf of both partners.

Payment Schedule

Mentorship Fees 500$per/day included (VAT or withholding tax 15%).

The reimbursement and expenses will be discussed during contract negotiation; and then consultant will be expected to work in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Intellectual property

All intellectual property generated by the mentorship will be owned by the partner organizations (KCD), who will retain the rights to disseminate and publish the results. 

Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Master or Bachelor degree of management, theatre and art and other related field
  • Previous experience with NGOs and teaching
  • Previous international experience in different social contexts  Cambodian cultural knowledge
  • At least five years of work experience in relevant skills
  • Women would appreciate
  • Good interpersonal skills and multitasking
  • Report writing skills
  • English professional
