The Financial Controller will oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and robust internal controls. The role supports strategic financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow management to ensure financial sustainability and operational efficiency.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, and manage relationships with auditors and tax authorities.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor performance against budget, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and financial models to support decision-making.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls across the organization.
- Streamline financial systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement best practices in financial governance and reporting
- Manage and develop a finance team
- Provide coaching, training, and performance reviews to build a high-performing team.
- Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
- Support investment decisions and capital expenditure planning.
- Act as a financial partner to operations, HR, and other departments/Projects.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
- Contribute to system implementations or upgrades
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
- Professional qualification: CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 3 years in a controllership or senior finance role
- Solid knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and financial systems.
- Proficiency in financial software systems (e.g. SAP).
