Habitat for Humanity International in Cambodia (Habitat Cambodia) is part of Habitat for Humanity International and began operations in 2003. We work with diverse international and local non-governmental organizations, microfinance institutions, corporate partners, and local and national authorities to build a better life through safe and affordable homes.

Since 2003, Habitat for Humanity Cambodia has served more than 188,000 families to improve their living conditions through housing interventions (new and house improvement, social housing, unlock land, land re-blocking, onsite upgrading, and access to housing finance), Housing Disaster Recovery and Resilience (HDRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), solid waste management, WASH facilities, community development programs in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Siem Reap, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, and Preah Vihear. Habitat Cambodia is now looking for dynamic and highly qualified candidates to fulfill the following positions:

Finance Officer

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the overall financial operation of Habitat Cambodia in Siem Reap Area Office, project financial management, financial reporting, and strengthening of the internal accounting controls consistent with Habitat’s financial policies, systems, processes, and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Task #1 - Cash and Bank Management – 30%
  • Maintains Operational Cash Fund for petty cash transactions.
  • Processes payment transactions via check, Wing, or bank electronic payment transactions.
  • Prepares Operational Cash Replenishment Report.
  • Prepares Monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement.
  • Task #2 – Bookkeeping and Reporting – 30%
  • Reviews and processes financial transactions (i.e., Cash Advance, Settlements, Direct Payments and other financial transactions) to ensure codes are correct, supporting documents are valid and sufficient.
  • Prepares financial data for regular uploading to Sun Systems.
  • Coordinates with the Finance Team at National Office for the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Task #3 – Budgeting and Financial Reporting – 20%
  • Supports the Program Team in budget preparation and revision.
  • Prepares Monthly Project Financial Report with variance analysis.
  • Task #4 – Administrative & Coordinating Roles – 20%
  • Responsible for the proper filing system of the Finance Vouchers.
  • Monitors staff cash advances & its timely settlement.
  • Provides orientation on Finance to newly hired staff in Siem Reap.
  • Participates in team meetings, events and other activities.
  • Performs spot checks, as needed, on financial transactions.
  • Performs other tasks as required by Supervisor.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, major in Accounting or Finance
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • With at least 5 yeas work experience in Accounting/ Finance, plus 2 years in Administration.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Office 365
  • Knowledge in Sun Systems is an advantage.
  • Good communication skills in English (written and oral),
Soft Skills
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Flexible and a good team player.
