Announcement Description

The Agroecology and Safe food System Transitions (ASSET) project is regional project funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the European Union (EU), and the Fond Français pour l’Environnement Mondial (FFEM) over five years from 2025 to 2026 in four targeted countries: Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam. The overall objective is to harness the potential of agroecology to transform food and agricultural systems into more sustainable systems, notably safer, more equitable and inclusive, in the Southeast Asia region.

Preah Vihear Province was selected as project flagship site for Cambodia. The development of agroecological practices there targets the agroecological intensification of cropping systems through soil fertility management practices, crop-livestock integration, crop diversification depending on soil types and water availability and agroecological crop protection. The main activities particularly focused on identifying promising rice varieties adapted to agroecological systems and the agroecological crop protection (ACP) practices to control the pests in particular the insects pests on cashew nut. To assist the implementation and the data collection, the project is seeking 3 motivated interns.
