GX Foundation is a non-profit charitable Chinese organization established in Hong Kong. It aims to provide humanitarian assistance in medical and public health to countries along the “Belt and Road” and embody “people-to-people connectivity.”

The foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with five countries and plans to provide free vision restoration surgeries for 37,500 patients in Laos, Cambodia, Djibouti, Senegal, and Mauritania from 2022 to 2027, helping to completely eliminate the backlog of blindness caused by cataracts in the local area.

In addition to cataract surgery assistance, the foundation's global work also includes public health and humanitarian assistance projects such as vector disease prevention and control, disaster emergency health risk management, international cooperation, and community knowledge transfer.

Field Project Officer

Position Summary

The position is for Khmer and Chinese Speaking

Type of Employment: Full time Fixed Duration Contract

Salary grade: USD 700-1000 (subject to candidate’s work experience and educational qualifications)

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Ensure smooth daily project operations with relevant stakeholders (medical team, provincial hospital, local volunteer and local counterparts)
  • Facilitate on daily patients and volunteer data management and ensure all records are filed properly.
  • Facilitate and provide patient management throughout the surgical process
  • Support patient flow, rundown and answer phone call from patients during cohort break.
  • Liaison and translation between Chinese medical team, hospital staff and local patients
  • Oversee logistics of Chinese medical teams and relevant staff
  • Support inventory logistic and management
  • Patient recruitment and follow up
  • Other duties as assigned by Project Director & Field Office Coordinator
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Diploma holder or above preferred
  • 2 years of Khmer/Chinese translation work experience
  • Candidates with experience in project management or field hospital management is definitely an advantage
  • Good command of spoken Khmer and Chinese (Mandarin), Command of English is a bonus
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player with strong sense of responsibility
  • Willing to station in Kampong Spue Province. (Accommodation is provided)
  • Immediate availability is preferred
