Position Overview: We are seeking an energetic Field Agronomist to drive our corn and other crop seeds expansion in Cambodia! You will be our on-the-ground expert, managing demonstration farms, collecting vital crop data, and building strong relationships with local farmers and agro-dealers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage Demo Farms: Oversee land preparation, planting, and inputs for corn demonstration plots.
- Farmer Trials: Distribute trial seed packets and promotional gear to selected farmers, providing ongoing technical support via offline and online channels.
- Digital Tracking: Use the Farm Suite app to accurately track crop progress, yield data, other ground data and submit weekly reports to Phnom Penh.
- Market Building: Visit local agro-dealers to educate them on our seeds and build a future sales network.
- Events: Assist in organizing local "Harvest Field Days" to showcase successful crops to the community.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
- Khmer
- English - Basic
Work History:
- Experience in agricultural extension, field trials, or crop production (corn/maize experience is a big plus!) for 1 year
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
- Education: Agricultural degree or related degree.
- Skills: Tech-savvy (comfortable with mobile data apps and MS Office); native Khmer and basic English.
Soft Skills
- Mobility: Ability to travel frequently between the Western provinces, the Eastern territories, and Phnom Penh.
