Job Purpose
The Farm Manager is responsible for planning, leading, and supervising all farm operations of Harvest Impact Cambodia to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable production of vegetables, fruits, and integrated farming activities (including fish). The role emphasizes disciplined day-to-day execution, quality control, cost awareness, and effective team leadership to deliver consistent production aligned with HIC’s operational and sustainability goals.
Working Conditions
- Based primarily at farm sites in Kampong Chhnang Province
- Working hours follow farm operational needs, including peak farming periods
- Farm Production & Operations Management
- Prepare monthly and seasonal crop production plans for vegetables (net-house and open-field), fruits, and integrated activities (fish where applicable)
- Supervise daily farm activities including land preparation, planting, irrigation, crop maintenance, and harvesting
- Monitor crop health and respond promptly to pest, disease, or production issues
- Ensure farming practices comply with sustainable agriculture and food safety standards
- Integrated Farming, Water & Pond Management
- Manage water ponds used for irrigation and fish farming
- Monitor water levels and basic water quality for irrigation and fish production
- Ensure efficient and responsible use of water resources
- Support integrated farming systems as required
- Quality, Hygiene, Safety & Biosecurity
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and basic biosecurity measures for crops and fish
- Enforce occupational health and safety practices for all farm workers
- Manage agricultural waste and maintain overall farm cleanliness and order
- Equipment & Farm Infrastructure Management
- Oversee proper use and routine maintenance of farm tools, equipment, and machinery
- Identify repair and maintenance needs for irrigation systems, ponds, storage areas, and fencing
- Ensure all equipment is safe and functional
- Farm Workforce Management
- Supervise farm workers and daily labor activities
- Operate farm tractor within the farm and drive truck for production delivery to markets when required
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure work discipline
- Provide on-the-job training in farming techniques, safety, hygiene, and good agricultural practices
- Promote teamwork and a respectful working environment
- Records, Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain accurate records on planting, harvesting, farm inputs, inventory, and labor
- Prepare weekly and monthly farm operation reports
- Report operational challenges, risks, and recommendations for improvement to management
- Coordinate with management and other teams to support production and supply needs

- Bachelor's Degree in or master’s degree in agriculture (Agronomy or Horticulture) or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in farm or agricultural operations for 3 to 5 years as a minimum
- Experience supervising farm workers or leading small farm teams
- Basic ability to read, write, and prepare simple operational reports
- Experience in vegetable and fruit production systems (Preferred)
- Basic knowledge of sustainable agriculture, GAP, or organic practices (Preferred)
- Exposure to fish farming or integrated farming systems (Preferred)
- Strong hands-on farm management and problem-solving skills
