Position Summary:
- We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization to new heights. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for our mission, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in a similar role.
- Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of an organization, overseeing all operational, strategic and administrative functions. This key leader bears the ultimate responsibility for the organization’s performance, aligning all activities with its vision, mission and values. The role demands a strong presence, capable of steering the organization through its strategic goals while ensuring financial health and operational efficiency.
- Ensuring the organization operates correctly and functionally.
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the organization (goals and objectives).
- Strong and strategic nonprofit leaders build alliances and strategic partnerships.
- Clear vision, mission, theory of change, statement of need, unique value proposition, overall strategy and direction of the organization.
- Understand the legal frameworks of creating and running a nonprofit.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's programs and services.
- Drive fundraising leadership to ensure the funds are there to execute the budget and efforts secure necessary resources and manage relationships with donors and funders.
- Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, program evaluation, consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications and systems.
- Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, community members, funders, politicians and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.
- Oversee the overall management of the organization’s operations, finances and personnel in accordance with the direction established in the strategic plans.
- Fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position (financial control and fund with financials).
- Recruit, interview and select staff that have the right technical and personal abilities to help further the organization's mission. Retention, management, development and compliance are carried out with excellence.
- Lead recruit, train, coach, develop and mentor a high-performance senior staff, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Manage staff and provide guidance and support to team members.
- Evaluating the work of staff and volunteers to ensure that programs are of high quality and that resources are used effectively.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the organization at external events and foster strong relationships with stakeholders, supporters and community.
- Ensuring proper hardware and software are in place for fundraising, collaboration, document creation and storage, communication, productivity and record keeping.
- Creating and maintaining policies to ensure the use of the most relevant and efficient technology and planning/budgeting for upgrades needed for future success.
- Inclusive work with the board, staff and stakeholders to ensure that the mixture of programs and activities is achieving the organization’s mission.
- Build partnership with the board and for the board, sustain and strengthen all board functions, like meetings, strategic plans, policy compliance and committee work.
- Communicating effectively with the board of directors, providing, timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
- Enhance the organization’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.

- Phd in business, nonprofit management or related field. A master’s degree in one of these fields or in nonprofit management is preferred.
- At least experience in a senior leadership role or experience in a managerial or directorial position for 5 years
- Knowledge and experience in organizational management, staff management and strategic planning.
- Extensive experience in strategic planning and implementation.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- Experience in fundraising and resource development.
- Proficiency in organizational development and change management.
- Certifications related to leadership or management can be advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans.
- Experience working with a board of directors.
- Knowledge of development entity specific regulations and compliance.
- Knowledge of and experience with or within development entity.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Khmer both spoken and written; proficiency in English is a plus.
- Knowledge of organization managing.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written with proficiency in leading and managing teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
