Environmental Educator
ACCB is seeking a passionate and dynamic Environmental Educator to join our environmental outreach and education department. The successful candidate will work closely with the Outreach & Education Manager and colleagues to develop and implement an Environmental Outreach & Education Strategy. The role involves executing environmental education projects, engaging with visitors and local communities, and supporting various activities at ACCB, including special events, fundraising, animal rescue and release operations, and administrative tasks. Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Environmental Educator at ACCB is responsible for executing all conservation outreach and education initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the environmental education team, support the development of long-term strategies for conservation education, outreach, and awareness projects. This position involves close coordination with team members of the Animal Department and Finance Department, reporting directly to the Outreach & Education manager.
Duty Station: Kbal Spean, Phnom Kulen National Park
- Conduct educational tours for visitors at ACCB
- Develop and update environmental education projects and materials
- Organize and participate in outreach, awareness and education events
- Representing ACCB at events as needed
- Translate documents between English and Khmer
- Develop social media content to promote ACCB’s initiatives and events
- Maintain contact with suppliers and partnerships with tour operators
- Assist in report writing and fundraising activities
- Keep accurate records on outreach and education events
- Identify safety hazards and develop mitigations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Experience in teaching or training in schools or environmental education projects
- A degree in teaching, biology, or a related field, or proven equivalent work experience
- Strong commitment to conservation
- Experience collaborating with government departments is preferred
- Ability to produce high-quality reports in Khmer and English
- Excellent communication, facilitation and capacity building skills
- Effective coordination skills to work with the community, local authorities, and national partners
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to challenging circumstances
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Good English communication skills, oral and written
- Proactive and positive work attitude
- Willingness to travel for outreach events
- A valid driving license for cars is an advantage
