Position Summary

Environment Trainer (full-time, short-term, July to Oct 2026)

One trainer based in Kampong Cham, one trainer based in Battambang, one trainer based in Phnom Penh

Project Name: Building One ASEAN Solidarity and Sustainability through Partnerships between Youth, CSOs, and Member States (A-SASSY).

Assignment: Environment Trainer (short-term) for Training on Environmental Education, Climate Change, and E-Learning Platforms for students at the university.

Assignment Objectives:

The Environment trainers will:

  • Deliver training sessions on Environmental Education and Climate Change for students at high school and university in the project target area.
  • Introduce, demonstrate, and support students in effectively using the Environmental Education E-Learning Platform (GenSEA Climate Academy).
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The Environment trainers shall undertake the following tasks:
  • Conduct training sessions on the environment and the impact of Climate Change and Biodiversity.
  • Introduce, demonstrate, and facilitate students' use of the Environmental Education E-Learning Platform (GenSEA Climate Academy), including guidance on account registration and course navigation.
  • Support students in accessing and utilizing online learning resources and tools available through the GenSEA Climate Academy platform.
  • Facilitate interactive learning activities, group discussions, practical exercises, and question-and-answer sessions to enhance students' understanding and participation.
  • Administer pre-test and post-test assessments to measure participants' knowledge and learning outcomes.
  • Coordinate with API staff, focal teachers, and partner educational institutions to organize and implement training activities effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and training activities.
  • Prepare and submit training reports after each training session, including attendance records, training results, key achievements, challenges encountered, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure that all training activities are conducted in accordance with API's project objectives, implementation plans, and reporting requirements.
Benefits:

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good is required
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or Climate Change-related field. as a minimum
Work History:
  • Experience in training or working in the environment sector for 0 month as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of environmental sustainability and climate change issues.
  • Experience using e-learning or digital learning platforms.
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with university students and youth groups.
