Swisscontact - the Swiss Foundation for Technical Cooperation is an independent, non-profit foundation based in Zürich, founded in 1959 by leading figures from the Swiss private sector and Swiss universities. It is exclusively involved in international development, active in more than 38 countries with 120 programmes with more than 1,000 staff members. Swisscontact has been present throughout South-East Asia for more than 30 years. Swisscontact has been operating in Cambodia since 2013, establishing its office in the country in April 2016.

The Agroecology and Safe food System Transitions (ASSET) project is regional project funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the European Union (EU), and the Fond Français pour l’Environnement Mondial (FFEM) over five years from 2020 to 2025 in four targeted countries: Cambodia, Laos PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam. The overall objective is to harness the potential of agroecology to transform food and agricultural systems into more sustainable systems, notably safer, more equitable and inclusive, in the Southeast Asia region.

The project has in total for the four countries 12 national partners, 10 European partners, 3 international partners, and 2 United Nations agencies. Specifically, for Cambodia, the project partners with two national partners: Department of Agricultural Land Resources Management (DALRM) of General Directorate of Agriculture (GDA) and Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), and four International partners: CIRAD, GRET, Swisscontact, and Uni4Coop (Eclosio and Louvain Cooperation).

Enumerators for Baseline Survey (4 Positions)

Position Summary

Employment start: December 2022

Place of work: Rovieng District, Preah Vihear Province

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Attend training and familiarize with the questionnaires of household survey provided by the coordination.
  • With support from the coordination team, prepare an assignment work plan including timeline of the survey, the detailed schedule of interview appointment and relevant logistics information
  • Conduct the household survey with the sampled households at the field using the Kobo toolbox
  • Establish quality assurance (verification and validation process) to address the incomplete and inconsistent responses
  • Attend daily/weekly follow-up meeting with the coordination team to communicate progress, challenges and results.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • He/ she must have a good understanding of data collection methods and data entry digital tool, preferably Kobo Toolbox.
  • Have a committment to stay in Rovieng district of Preah Vihear province for the working days
  • Have knowledge and skills in using internet, emails, Microsoft Words and Excel
  • Have an ability to use English is a plus.
  • Experience in data collection and data handling is desirable
  • Individuals with previous experiences working with farmers are desirable
  • Individuals with knowledge of agronomy and farming practice are desirable
