ISF Cambodia (ISF) is a Cambodian based charity with over 18 years of experience using education and sport to change lives. Our aim is to make a fundamental and lasting change in the lives of some of the poorest and most disadvantaged children and their families in Cambodia.

Our Education Programme focuses on children in the slums of the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, whose extreme poverty means they have never gone to school or have had to drop out. We provide them with a quality education a whilend healthcare whilst working closely with their communities to lift entire families out of poverty. Through our grassroots Football Programme, ISF works directly with 4,000 youth, promoting equality and providing opportunities to those marginalized by poverty, disability, HIV and gender.

Position Summary

Local Applicants Only

Contract Type: UDC (following successful completion of a three-month probation period)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7 hours a day unless otherwise agreed with the Head of English Programme.

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide quality English language education to disadvantaged students from poor communities in Phnom Penh. This education helps students gain better employment options, and builds vital communication skills, which helps lift their families and community out of poverty.

Accountability and Relationship:

  • Reports directly to the Head Teacher at Steung Meanchey Office.
  • Works collaboratively on a daily basis with Head Teacher at Steung Meanchey Office.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Develop and prepare lesson plans aligned course objectives;
  • Provide and deliver clear lesson goals expectation students;
  • Adapt teaching methods, the use of technology and materials to meet the course objectives and students’ interests;
  • Encourage and build students’ confidence mainly in listening and speaking skills;
  • Assess and monitor student progress using appropriate methods;
  • Keep record of students’ attendance and their progress performance;
  • Enforce classroom behavior rules and maintain discipline and engagement;
  • Promote safe, respectful and inclusive classroom environment;
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents;
  • Participate actively in all tasks assigned by the Head of English programme as well as events organized by the programme and the schools;
  • Strictly follow all ISF’s internal policies.

Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good is preferred
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or other related fields;
Work History:
  • Teaching English to children and young adults for 2 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • High level of English proficiency; preferably IELTS 6.0 and above;
  • Good knowledge of innovative teaching techniques, online platforms, and use of AI..etc;
  • Great passion in teaching and commitment to work with children with a difficult background;
Soft Skills
  • Strong classroom management, and interpersonal skills;
  • Be punctual, honest, trustworthy, patient, respectful and helpful.
