Founded in 2005, Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC) is a non-profit organization based in Siem Reap, Cambodia. JWOC’s mission is to work in partnership with Cambodian low-income youth to fulfill their potential in education, employment and sustainable development of their society.

We are looking for an experienced English Teacher who passionate about youth development and equipping younger generations with English language for future.

Position Summary

Location: Siem Reap city

Schedule: Fulltime including Sunday (Days off on Friday & Saturday)

Starting date: Negotiable

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Run English classes in the JWOC learning center to youth in various programs
  • Support the line manager in running enhancement activities to support slow learners and enhance extra learning atmosphere
  • Prepare teaching plans and materials and ensure the contents are aligned with the JWOC curriculum and set schedule
  • Support the team in facilitating special events and or other exchange activities
  • Track and report students’ performance to the line manager
  • Build and maintain relationships with students to establish a friend learning environment both in and outside the campus.
  • Contribute to the development of the program monitoring and evaluation and JWOC curriculum regarding basic education.
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Bachelor or pursuing a degree in Education and or TESOL
  • At least 3 years’ experience in teaching English (including volunteer experience) with American textbooks is a preferred
  • Having strong leadership skills with critical thinking, creativity and good communication
  • Experience in coordinating or facilitating learning activities outside the curriculum or youth events
  • Strong English and some knowledge of technology
  • Having a detail-oriented manner when recording data and information
  • Friendly, outgoing and confidence
  • Willing to work in a team that values quality and is open for ideas
  • Available on Sunday as part of working schedule
