Overall role: To support EnergyLab and our partners to understand and promote the opportunities and challenges the clean energy transition can bring for Cambodia.

Objective of the role: To support Cambodia towards a clean energy transition without new coal power that leads to a more competitive, inclusive and resilient economy.

Report to: Policy Director

Duties
  • Work with the Policy Director and across EnergyLab to deliver our living strategy by providing impactful advocacy and ecosystem support, leveraging EnergyLab’s deep political economy experience and knowledge.
  • Build and share insightful knowledge related to the market, policy, technical and commercial aspects of the clean energy transition (locally, regionally and globally) as it relates to Cambodia, while keeping the focus on the key aspects that will be critical for increasing clean energy.
  • Provide efficient support to our network of stakeholders to accelerate the clean energy transition in Cambodia, including Policy makers, Development partners, NGOs, think tanks and universities, Business and Industry representatives.
  • Co-ordinate a range of activities with stakeholders to promote and engage in meaningful policy and strategic dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of the clean energy transition in Cambodia.
  • Support our Communication and Program teams to promote understanding and engagement with clean energy.
Requirements
  • Qualifications:
  • A master level graduate with at least 4 years of professional experience. Professions could be in engineering, economics, law, public policy, business, journalism, communications, technology, education or advocacy.
  • Experience working as part of the clean energy transition, such as in renewable energy, energy efficiency or distributed energy is desirable.
  • Experience in policy, advocacy and guiding the ‘big-picture’ aspects of the energy transition would be a particular advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders towards strategic goals with an ability to simplify complexity and communicate towards these strategic goals.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, both in English and Khmer.
