CIS seeks experienced candidates for the position of Teaching Assistant (TA). TAs are important members of our teaching team. They support classroom teachers in providing productive, safe learning environments. Several positions are available.
- Early years classroom: support play-based learning in a whole-class setting with children ages 18 months to 4 years old
- Support the teacher in providing instruction and in creating an effective learning environment
- Engage with the teacher in using positive behavioural supports and contributing to the creation of a safe, welcoming, respectful learning environment
- Support the facilitation of co curricular and extracurricular activities
- Attend Parent-Teacher Interviews and other school events as required
- Fulfill role in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all students in the school by:
- attending regular professional development child protection and safeguarding programs and sign a Code of Conduct
- reporting to the Designated or Deputy Safeguarding Lead any concerns they have for the welfare of a student
- English - Fluent
- High school diploma; advanced education desirable
- Possession of a valid First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification is required
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, ideally in a WASC- or CIS-accredited international school
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Genuine commitment to student success and well-being
- General understanding of child development or interested in gaining this understanding
- Able to provide positive motivation and to build rapport with students
- Brings a flexible, collaborative approach and able to adapt to changing classroom needs and priorities
- Able to empathize with others and to use strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates cultural competence and enjoys learning about other cultures
- Comfortable engaging with the concepts of diversity, belonging and well-being
- Able to use a computer, Google Workspace and email
