Design Coordinator

Position Summary

HEKS/EPER is herewith looking for position of Design Coordinator for Designing Human-centred Solutions for Improved Climate Resilience (Design4Climate) project based in HEKS/EPER Office Cambodia, Phnom Penh. The Designing Human-Centered Solutions for Improved Climate Resilience (Design4Climate) project is committed to enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers, vulnerable groups, and their communities in Cambodia, while boosting their resilience to climate change. By using both a human-centered design and a market systems development approach, the project fosters the transition to more resilient market systems in an effective and inclusive way.

  • Other Allowance: Annual Medical Package, NSSF, Personal Insurance and Direct family member (H&S and GPA), 13th Month Salary, Seniority align to Cambodia Law.

Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Co-lead the project team for the implementation of the project with a strong focus on the design of new user-centered solutions that address key challenges in agriculture, climate change adaptation, and related sectors.  
  • Guide and support the project team in designing, planning, and implementing the project intervention activities according to the project outcomes/outputs, emphasizing the use of participatory, iterative design processes to create impactful interventions tailored to community needs. 
  • Financial management and administration, overseeing project finances and financial reporting. This includes reviewing, comprehending, and approving financial reports such as budgets, income statements, cash flow statements, and the project's Annual Audit. Additionally, this role involves managing administrative tasks related to the project. 
  • Ensure the project has an effective monitoring/MRM system in place. In collaboration with MEAL unit, lead project monitoring activities and adaptive learning, including regular data collection, analysis, and quarterly reflection to refine strategies and enhance impact. 
  • Support fundraising team in developing concept note/proposals for various call/donors. Provide relevant information to Acquisition/fundraising and communications team as needed. Also participate or lead acquisition activities at project/country if required. 
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with strategic partners, including government departments, local institutions, civil society, and research actors to co-design and co-deliver solutions.  
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge and communication materials, including publications, learning materials, and case studies 
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • University degree in agriculture, agri-business, business administration or another related fields. 
  • Experience in design thinking and co-creating market-driven solutions with communities and stakeholders, as well as exposure to private sector partnerships, is a strong advantage. 
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in the agriculture sector, particularly in climate-resilient agriculture, and in the design of inclusive, sustainable, and market-driven interventions. 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in project management, with skills in planning, monitoring, evaluation, and conducting research, including documentation and preparation of case studies. 
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills; ability to map systems, identify leverage points, and prototype and test new ideas. 
  • Acquisition experience is a plus. 
  • Strong written and spoken English skills  
  • Working style is characterized by initiative, integrity, creativity, collaboration, and respect
