YOUR ROLE
As Deputy School Director, you will support School Director in the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the Smiling Gecko Education Campus. You will help ensure the effective delivery of high-quality, child-centred education by coordinating academic and operational activities, supporting and mentoring teachers, and fostering a positive learning environment. Working closely with the School Director, Cambodian and international educators, and internal and external education partners, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching, learning, student wellbeing, and school performance while helping to achieve the school's strategic goals.
- Support the School Director in implementing the school's strategic vision, policies, and educational objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day academic and administrative operations of the school to ensure effective and efficient performance.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across all education levels.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional support to teachers, academic coordinators, and administrative staff.
- Coordinate curriculum implementation and ensure compliance with Cambodian Ministry of Education requirements and the school's educational standards.
- Assist in planning and delivering teacher professional development, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote student well-being, safeguarding, discipline, and an inclusive learning environment in accordance with school policies.
- Support school planning, timetabling, examinations, assessment processes, and academic reporting.
- Collaborate with parents, community partners, and Smiling Gecko's programs to strengthen student learning and community engagement.
- Assist in managing school resources, facilities, budgets, and operational activities to ensure effective use of available resources.
- Monitor compliance with school policies, safeguarding requirements, health and safety standards, and relevant legal regulations.
- Act on behalf of the School Director during their absence and perform delegated leadership responsibilities as required.
- Contribute to school improvement planning, quality assurance, and accreditation or inspection processes.

- Postgraduate Degree is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Educational Management or a related field
- Minimum of 5–7 years of teaching experience, including 2–3 years in a school leadership or management role.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting academic leadership, school operations, and staff supervision.
- Strong understanding of curriculum implementation, assessment, and quality assurance; experience in bilingual or international education is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of student safeguarding, child protection, and student well-being practices.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop teachers to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
