As the Counselor Head in Cambodia, you will lead our Counseling team in providing holistic, trauma-informed support to women and children across our programs. - Strategic Leadership & Clinical Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the Counseling team across all program sites, ensuring high-quality, consistent therapeutic care.
- Design and implement trauma-informed therapeutic frameworks tailored to the needs of survivors in Cambodia.
- Ensure alignment of Counseling services with organizational values, ethical standards, and international best practices.
- Regularly review and update intervention protocols based on evolving trauma research and local context.
- Program Development & Monitoring
- Develop and oversee implementation of personalized intervention and group therapy plans.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to assess program effectiveness and improve outcomes for survivors.
- Ensure timely psychological assessments, documentation, and pre/post evaluations for all therapeutic sessions.
- Provide regular analytical and impact reports on Counseling programs to regional and global teams.
- Team Capacity Building
- Organize and lead regular trainings, workshops, and reflective practice sessions for the Counseling team.
- Build team capacity in trauma-focused modalities such as TFCBT, CBT, art therapy, and movement-based therapies.
- Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and emotional safety within the Counseling team.
- Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate closely with social workers, legal teams, and shelter staff to provide holistic care plans for each survivor.
- Represent the Counseling program in stakeholder meetings, case conferences, and cross-sector collaborations.
- Build partnerships with local mental health institutions, training bodies, and trauma care networks to strengthen community-based support systems.
- Crisis Support & Risk Assessment
- Oversee and guide the team during rescue operations and emergency support interventions.
- Lead risk assessments for complex cases and support Counselors in developing safety and recovery plans.
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in trauma counseling, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Preferred Background: Strong grounding in trauma-informed care, preferably in post-conflict or humanitarian settings.

- Deep empathy and resilience when working with survivors of extreme trauma.
- Strategic and analytical mindset with a passion for improving systems of care.
- Cross-cultural competence and sensitivity to the Cambodian context.
- Fluency in English required; knowledge of Khmer is an asset.
