The Urban Poor Women Development (UPWD) is a local, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that is not affiliated with any political party or religion. The organization was established in 1997 and officially registered with the Ministry of Interior in 1998. UPWD is one among other organizations working with women and children living in urban slum areas. The organization is unique because it was founded by women, led by women, and works with women for the benefit of women.

Position Summary

Work/Service Description : Recruitment of Consultant to provide capacity building workshop on Sustainable Production Techniques - (i) technical knowledge in cashew cultivation and management, and (ii) technical knowledge in rice and cassava cultivation

Project Tittle : Civil Society Links and Empowerment for Socially Inclusive

Total number of trainees : 70 People (will be run in separate module of 35 per group, and 2 days each)

Location : Banlung Municipality, Ratanakiri Province, Cambodia

Duration of Work : 6 working days

Expected Started Date : 28 April 2026

Work-related Communication

In this specific task, the consultant/service provider will be coordinating or communicating directly with the team from the Urban Poor Women Development (UPWD). The overall training curriculums, manuals, materials, and plan involved will be in coordination and consultation with UPWD team.

Reporting

The Consultant will have to directly report to UPWD team on the progress of the plans and training. If there are any changes or concerns related to the training, he/she should discuss with UPWD team. The final report at the end of the activity will also include analysis of the pre-test and post-test results and the training evaluation.

Duration of the work

The expected starting date is on 28 April 2026.

The duration of the contract for consultant is only 6 working days (one day for preparation, four days of delivering the training, and one day for the report).

Contract Cost:

The total contract amount will charge subject to VAT 10% according to the Cambodian Tax Law or 15% of the Withholding Tax law of Cambodia (for individual/unregistered consultant) from the total fee.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The consultant/service provider will be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Develop training curricula and materials, including lessons/handouts, pre- and post-tests, evaluation tools, and training agenda on Sustainable Production Techniques - (i) technical knowledge in cashew cultivation and management, and (ii) technical knowledge in rice and cassava cultivation. All materials shall be submitted to the UPWD team at least three (3) days prior to the training.
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans, training methodologies, and related training materials.
  • Deliver a four-day training on Sustainable Production Techniques.
  • Submit a training report that reflects the achievement of the training objectives and key results.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Postgraduate Degree in Agriculture Science or any related fields
Work History:
  • Experience in the field of delivering training regarding rice, cassava, and cashew nut cultivation/production techniques/methods for 5 years as a minimum
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Proven experience in developing training manuals, curriculums, and tools
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and/or training management skills, and ability to engage people to involve with session
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written Khmer and English
  • Computer literacy
