Announcement Description

About EnergyLab

EnergyLab Asia is an innovative not-for-profit organisation driving a fair and impactful transition to renewable energy in Southeast Asia. We were established in Cambodia in 2018 and are based in Phnom Penh. In 2024, we expanded our operations to Lao PDR and now work across Southeast Asia to advance clean energy solutions that benefit the entire region.

Project Summary

The Clean Energy Internship (CEI) Program was launched by EnergyLab Asia in 2018 to address the growing need for skilled professionals in Cambodia’s clean energy sector. The program aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and workplace skills by offering structured internships that combine technical training, professional development, mentoring, and hands-on placement.

The program connects university students and recent graduates with private companies and organizations in the fields of renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency, providing practical work experience and industry exposure.

Through these internships, interns are expected to gain insights into clean energy operations, develop workplace competencies, and explore potential career paths, while host companies benefit from motivated interns who contribute to ongoing projects and may become future employees.

Summary

Position Type: Consultant (Individual/Team)

Key Objectives and Scope of the Consultancy

EnergyLab Asia is seeking a consultant or team of consultants to deliver a 4-day Soft Skills Training in Phnom Penh for the approximately 30 interns before their placement at respective companies.

The training will cover topics such as effective communication, leadership, time management, and problem-solving. Based on the Clean Energy Skills Assessment reports, commissioned by EnergyLab Asia and feedback from companies’ last year’s placements, these topics have been identified as the most critical skills across renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency sectors. Since universities typically focus on technical knowledge and provide limited training in soft skills, these sessions are designed to strengthen these essential abilities, empowering interns to succeed professionally and make a meaningful contribution during their internship.

To address this, the project seeks a consultant to support effective implementation with the following scope:
