The period of performance is expected from Nov 01, 2024, to Mar 31, 2025. (Total estimated LOE – 15 days).
Location of Work: The position will be based in USAID-EQHA II of the FHI 360 office in Phnom Penh.
Travel: Consultant may be required to travel in Phnom Penh or provinces as required by the project. Per diem and accommodation will be provided by FHI 360 for trips to provinces.
Detailed Description of Tasks to be Performed:
The objective of this consultancy is to provide technical expertise in revision of the Provider Behavior Change Intervention (PBCI) training curriculum and relevant materials for training activities (trainer and trainee) and coaching materials are updated and aligned with current best practices and national health priorities, including health professional ethics and respectful care. The consultant will work with the national center for health promotion (NCHP) and relevant stakeholders and development partners to coordinate, assess and improve the PBCI training curriculum and its associated materials. S/he will work closely with relevant partners and stakeholders through the technical working group (TWG) in reviewing existing materials and identifying relevant updates. S/he will develop a comprehensive content mapping between current PBCI curriculum and CHAS/CHCAS/other relevant documents and present findings and update proposals to the NCPH and TWG. S/he will collaborate with national stakeholders to ensure the inclusion of relevant topics like national programs, gender equity for social inclusion (GESI) in the revision of PBCI training curriculum and its materials. S/he will foster teamwork and address challenges that may arise during the working process and update to assigned technical monitor of EQHA II.
- Coordinate with other relevant development partners to support the NCHP to review the existing PBCI training curriculum, materials, and coaching materials, identifying areas for improvement and updating content to align with current best practices and national health priorities, and ensure it is competency-based curriculum.
- Manage and coordinate the TWG members during meetings/non-meetings format, including FHI 360/Epic program, PHB project, facilitating the review of existing materials and the search for relevant updates.
- Develop content mapping documents, presenting findings to the NCPH TWG and proposing updates based on the identified needs.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders at the national level to ensure the incorporation of essential topics, including national programs and GESI aspect in the PBCI training curriculum.
- Collect input from relevant partners and stakeholders during the process of revising PBCI training curriculum, consolidate input, and finalize PBCI training curriculum, and related materials, including competency-based checklist and coaching agenda.
- Revise/update PBCI training curriculum
- Develop training/coaching materials for trainers and trainees
- The consultant should have the knowledge, skills and extensive experience to implement the scope of work. Required criteria:
- A master's degree or PhD in public health, education, health sciences, or a related field is typically required.
- Certifications or specialized training in behavior change, health education, or instructional design.
- Professional experience in Healthcare, Curriculum Development, Knowledge of Health Systems.
- Special skills, including instructional design, adult learning theories, behavior change techniques, assessment and evaluation, cultural sensitivity, communication and facilitation, research skills.
- Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills
- Fluent command of English and Khmer
- Ability to work remotely effectively; and be proactive, flexible, conscientious, and responsive.
