Live & Learn Cambodia (LLC) is a local NGO and non-profit making organization. With its autonomy, capacity in governance, operation and program activities, LLC has been working with various partners throughout the country with a broad range of stakeholders, including Government ministries, local authorities, development partners and local and international NGOs, and communities.

LLC’s current vision is for a sustainable and equitable Cambodia free from poverty, while empowering Cambodians with innovative solutions to achieve a sustainable livelihood and environment. LLC builds resilience of local communities by developing their human, social, environmental and financial capital through innovative solutions, multi-stakeholder platforms and partnerships, in the areas of food security and economic viability, community WASH, sustainable use of natural resources and land degradation, low carbon development and use of renewable energy, and substantial education opportunities for disadvantage children.

Live & Learn Environmental Education, in collaboration with Live & Learn Cambodia, has commission a study to develop recommendations for project interventions around Angkor World Heritage Park and neighbouring communities. LLC is seeking a National Consultant, who will work closely with the teams from Australia and in Cambodia, provincial stakeholders, and communities, as well as Live & Learn team members to produce concrete outputs in a timely manner.

Consultant Engagement In Data Collection Support

Position Summary

Expected duration: 15 days (4-20 August 2022)

Locations: Siem Reap Province. Consultant will need to travel to provincial offices and communities around Angkor Park.

Scope and deliverables

The consultant should:

  • Meet with NGOs, provincial lines departments and local authorities and travel to Angkor World Heritage Site, and its neighbouring locations to interview and collect data required for the design.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings and dialogues with key stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit clean reports with required data to the team
Expectations - Duties, Responsibilities
  • Support team to design data collection tools and planning
  • Interview key stakeholders in Siem Reap province
  • Focus Group Discussion meetings with communities
  • Compiling data and drafting reports
  • Preparing and facilitating the dialogue workshops
Requirements - Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Extended experience working in Siem Reap province
  • Familiarity with and comprehensive knowledge and backgrounds relevant with landscape management, water resources management, natural resources management, conservation and livelihood activities
  • Experience to undertake and lead in research activities including literature review, research tools design, team training and data collection and data management
  • High capacity to write reports
  • Comprehensive skill in English language
  • Ability to work online and from distance for consultations and meetings and host teleconference and online dialogs
  • Possibility to travel or access to the Angkor World Heritage Site
