Purpose of consultancy
The purpose of this consultancy is to provide face-to-face training to trainee (mostly teacher of NISE and staff from KT – expected 18 people maximum) in topic of “classroom action research” and provide guidance to produce classroom action research papers.
The training should be comprised of “classroom action research, tool development, applying the intervention, data analysis, and reporting and sharing finding”. The consultant shall guide participant to produce quality action classroom research and reports. The training will have to focus on participants’ academic skills, knowledge and competence in order to respond to the vision of NISE. This training should be based on international standards but adapted to a Cambodian context as well as the academic, cultural background and disability inclusion in Cambodia.
Consultant will work closely under the supervision of the Director of National Institute for Special Education and support from Krousar Thmey.
Key Responsibilities and deliverables
- Submit course outline and training schedule for approval.
- Provide training and guidance to participant.
- Supporting to participant in tool development and classroom data analyzing.
- Provide coaching to participant in writing a report.
- Issue drafted report to NISE and KT related to result of the training.
- Submitting final report in hard copy and soft copy (In Khmer and English Version) at latest date at finishing training.
Bidder Eligibility
- Qualifications & experiences
- Advanced University degree in teaching methodology or research field, additional University courses or training or other relevant field of studies would be welcomed (ie education, special education, linguistics, Deaf studies).
- At least 5 years of experience in working in the area of teaching methodology or research both international and national levels, preferably with some experience in low-income countries and in education setting
- Experience in training, supervising and research.
- Expertise in development of staff competency and effectiveness.
- Solid understanding of research field.
- Extensive experience in training in teaching research or statistic.
- Experience and knowledge of Cambodia education system/ reforms and disability sector, a strong asset.
- Fluency in English. Khmer is an asset.
