Project Goal
The project contributes to child protection and poverty reduction in 5 districts in the provinces of Kompong Chhnang, Kompong Thom and Pursat in Cambodia.
Project Objective
20,250 (children and youth) from 201 villages (18 communes) in Kompong Chhnang, Kompong Thom and Pursat provinces are better protected from violence in their immediate environment (family, community and school), especially children affected by poverty, their families and the other target households have improved their living conditions and have been able to reduce their poverty stressors.
Indicators that ensure the achievements of this objective are:
- The percentage of parents/carers who believe that corporal punishment of children is necessary for education has fallen to 30%, and the percentage of teachers who believe that corporal punishment is the right form of discipline in school has fallen to 10%.
- At least 70% of the families supported have acquired knowledge about positive parenting and practiced it.
- The living conditions of 60% of the 270 poor families supported have improved (43 HH) or are no longer assigned to the previous category (from ID 1/very poor to not poor: 16 HH; ID poor 2 to not poor: 114 HH).
Eligibility
- Many years of work experience as an expert using participatory methodology and a comprehensive knowledge of the international evaluation standards and instruments as well as a good knowledge of the BMZ guidelines for evaluations.
- Proven experience with evaluations in the field of child rights and child protection using child rights-based approaches.
- Experience conducting evaluations and research using a mixed methods/participatory/child sensitive approach.
- Very good oral and written proficiency in English is required; knowledge in Khmer and local culture is desirable.
