My Village (MVi) is a Cambodian non-profit-non-government-organization which was founded in November 2006. MVi is working in northeast provinces of Cambodia, particular in Mondulkiri and Stung Treng Province. The main MVi development endeavors is to promote Indigenous People's rights to land, forestry, Natural Resource Management (NAM), Modern Agricultural Production and Market (MAP), Climate Change and Community Renewable Energy Options (CRE), Social Accountability (SAC) and community empowerment in partnership through the development of network and community groups, building women network and supporting the community to improve their livelihood status. Strengthen indigenous and local communities to become competent, fully recognized, and accountable local institutions for natural resource management and local development. Indigenous and local communities have more ownership and a better quality of life.

Currently, MVi is seeking the Cambodian national to fulfill its below position.

Community Assistant

Position Circumstances

Position Summary
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Project Operation:
  • Assist Project Manager and project staff in implementing project activities at community level.
  • Support community meetings, trainings, consultations, and field visits.
  • Assist in collecting field data and information from target communities.
  • Support data entry and maintain project records and documentation.
  • Assist in preparing activity reports and submitting field updates to supervisors.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, community groups, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders during project implementation.
  • Support logistical arrangements for project activities and field missions.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and monthly program meetings.
  • Assist in monitoring project activities and identifying field challenges
  • Policy Implementation:
  • Ensure the implementation of official MVi policies and procedures.
  • Keep informed of the general Cambodian development context with a special attention to issues of IP's Rights and Natural resources management, and its relations
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • English - Good
Work History:
  • Experiences in community organizing and relevant for 1 year
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of community development or relevant field;
  • Ability to drive Motorcycle and stay in the community
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to plan, assign, coordinate, organize and prioritize work
  • Experiences of working as team and project management.
  • Effective verbal, listening, communications facilitation skill and team building
  • Ability to understand in speaking, reading and writing English.
  • Good computer application skills.
Soft Skills
  • Flexible and able to prioritize own workload, take initiative, work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong commitment to MVi’s vision, mission, goal and values, including commitment to promoting indigenous people rights, gender equity in all aspects of work.
