Communications Coordinator
Scope of the Position:
The Communications Coordinator is responsible for the development and design of communication strategies, messages, and materials for HKI Cambodia programs. She/he reports to the Deputy Country Director, and works in close collaboration with other HKI staff. This position is based in Phnom Penh.
- Provide desktop design support for HKI publications, including design or selection and supervision of external desktop designers, and oversight of printing quality;
- Coordinate creation of all HKI Cambodia communications products, including writing and developing fact sheets, project briefs, videos, case studies, t-shirts, press releases, other printed materials, and other communications products as needed;
- Maintain HKI’s social media platforms, develop regular content, and make social media adheres to HKI’s social media guidelines;
- Support program and project managers to develop clear and innovative materials and messages, to achieve audience awareness and promote desired behaviors;
- Develop video clips and/or radio spots to support HKI program efforts and to promote HKI Cambodia’s work (working with external service providers as required);
- Work on media engagement including conducting media training, coordinating media engagement with HKI team, coordinating with news outlets to provide media coverage on HKI’s events, etc.
- In collaboration with program staff, plan and coordinate important national and sub-national events such as national nutrition day, world breastfeeding week, and youth forums etc.;
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships and lines of communication with other HKI-Cambodia team members.
- Lead the rollout of HKI strategies and tools related to communications, such as branding guidelines
- Build capacity of HKI Cambodia staff on basic communications tasks as needed
- Ensure all HKI produced communications materials are high quality, free of errors, comply with donor branding and marking requirements, and are aligned with HKI’s branding guidelines.
- Degree in the field of communications, public relations or public health/nutrition, or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in oral and written Khmer and English.
- Ability to take the lead on tasks and work independently when required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in common office software.
- Video production experience would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of development programs would be an advantage.
- Graphic design experience would be an advantage.
