Based in Seoul, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth known as "green growth", which targets key aspects of economic performance such as poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and the private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change.

GGGI Cambodia is hosted by the Ministry of Environment (MOE) and works closely with other ministries, including the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC), and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

GGGI Cambodia focuses on promoting sustainable development through three key thematic areas: Sustainable Mobility, Sustainable Energy, and Sustainable Waste Management. Additionally, GGGI Cambodia is engaging in three cross-cutting areas: Methane Mitigation (AKCMM), Green Investment, Entrepreneurship, and Carbon Financing.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The objective of this consultancy is to provide structured communication and knowledge-sharing support to GGGI Cambodia to enhance the visibility, coherence, and impact of its programmatic activities in green investment, sustainable energy, green building, methane mitigation, and waste management.

The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Assistant will support the effective development, coordination, and dissemination of communication and knowledge products across projects and stakeholders. The assignment aims to ensure that project results, policy dialogues, investment initiatives, and capacity-building activities are clearly documented, strategically communicated, and aligned with GGGI’s global communication standards and donor visibility requirements.

Through day-to-day operational support, content development, digital engagement, event communications, and knowledge product dissemination, the Consultant will contribute to strengthening stakeholder engagement, institutional credibility, and public awareness of GGGI Cambodia’s work, while promoting principles of gender equality, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability in all communication activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Communication & Content Outputs
  • Drafted and edited communication materials including social media posts, short articles, event write-ups, announcements, and media content as assigned.
  • Updated and formatted communication assets (factsheets, presentations, visual materials) in line with GGGI and donor branding guidelines.
  • Support to website content updates using WordPress or other systems, as required.
  • Social Media & Digital Support
  • Preparation and scheduling of social media content in coordination with the Senior Communication and Knowledge Sharing Associate.
  • Maintenance of content calendars and organization of photo/video assets.
  • Compilation of a brief monthly summary of social media and digital engagement performance.
  • Events & Campaign Communication Support
  • Communication preparation for workshops, meetings, conferences, and campaigns (invitations, agendas, signage, documentation).
  • On-site documentation support including drafting post-event write-ups and coordinating visual documentation.
  • Support implementation of country, regional, or global campaigns under supervision.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Publications Support
  • Coordination and formatting support for reports, briefs, publications, and other knowledge products.
  • Dissemination support through digital channels and stakeholder networks.
  • Maintenance of organized repositories of communication and knowledge products.
  • Coordination & Monitoring Support
  • Liaison with project teams, HQ Communications Unit, and external vendors as required.
  • Monitoring of relevant media and sector developments.
  • Any other duties assigned.
Expected Profile of Candidates
Languages:
  • Khmer - Fluent
  • English - Fluent
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, media, journalism, international relations, environmental studies, or a related field
Skills & Knowledge:
General & Technical Skills
  • Exposure to working in donor-funded and multi-stakeholder projects, supporting communication, reporting, or outreach activities.
  • Relevant experience in communications, media, project support, or related roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Khmer and English language.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic content management.
  • Basic or practical experience using design and layout tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Lightroom Photoshop), and/or Canva to support the preparation of communication materials.
  • Basic experience with camera operation, photography, or videography to support event documentation and communication activities.
Soft Skills
  • Interest in climate change, green growth, or sustainable development is desirable.
