COMMUNICATION SUPERVISOR:

Communication Team is looking for a Cambodian national candidate to fill the position of full-time Communication Supervisor.

JOB PURPOSE: Supporting and under the guidance of the Manager of Staff Relations and Communication, along with guidance from the AIM Media Director, the Communication Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Communications Team and Media Team in their execution of AIM organizational communication plans and initiatives, to align AIM’s leadership, staff and supporters by clearly communicating AIM’s mission, vision, values and related AIM cultural initiatives. Show creativity, professionalism, eye for journalism, and an eye for how God is working through AIM in all translation, interpretation, communication and media initiatives.

Key Relationships

Program director: Director of Human Resources / Director of Media.

Reports to: Manager of Staff Relations & Communication.

Direct Reports: Communication Specialist, Communication Officer, Field Media Lead, Field Media Associate.

Duties
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (i.e. those which are basic, necessary, and an integral part of the job, are indicated below.)
  • Evaluate, monitor and guide organizational communications through supervision of the Communication Team and Media Team projects and staff, with an aim towards aligning employees, leaders, and supporters in the mission God is doing through AIM.
  • Be creative, helping AIM stay on tasks with our mission while creating fun to engage staff and ensure they know God loves them and AIM family loves them.
  • Supervise and evaluate all translation and interpretation for AIM, for both internal and external communication - ensuring materials and messages between leaders and staff are understood clearly.
  • Provide professional level translation and interpretation as needed.
  • Directly support the Manager of Staff Relations and the AIM Media Director to develop and improve communication methods AIM wide.
  • Work with program leaders to define and clarify communication project requirements. Represent AIM core values in communications to leadership, staff, and AIM supporters.
  • Research and develop new opportunities to enhance and improve the media and communication initiatives and translation/ interpretation projects. Explore opportunities to better manage the efficiency and timelines required to meet program leaders and AIM project requirements.
  • Provide discipleship to those being led by and in the care of this role.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in communication or journalism preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Experience: 2+ years English/Khmer translation experience required.
  • 2+ years high level verbal and/or written communication experience with people from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds required.
  • 1+ years experience with leadership level roles/responsibilities.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Valid Khmer ID.
  • No criminal record.
  • Active member of a local Christian church.
  • Pastor’s reference.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Specific and General skills and abilities required to meet the expectations of the position.
  • Fluent in Khmer: written and spoken;
  • A good command of English: written and spoken.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office, email and the internet.
  • Understanding and familiarity with Cambodian law and customs.
  • Works well in a team.
  • Ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Manages time and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Organized and able to manage information.
  • Ability to deal with instructions and criticisms with an attitude of learning.

Job employment terms/benefits:

  • Working hours: 48hours/week. Typically, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (but some weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required).
  • Includes health insurance for employee and immediate family.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Lunch provided.
  • Salary for this position will be based on experience and qualifications.
