JOB OVERVIEW
The Coffee and beverage Teacher will be responsible for educating students with visual impairments (VI) on various coffee and beverage preparation techniques, including brewing methods, flavour profiles, and industry standards. The teacher will aim to develop students' practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the coffee and beverage sector.
- Create and implement lesson plans focusing on coffee brewing, beverage preparation, and service techniques.
- Instruct students with visual impairments on vocabulary related to coffee types and the processes involved in preparing beverages such as Espresso, Double Espresso, Americano, Latte, Cappuccino, Mocha, and others. Additionally, teach them about making drinks like Ice -Soda (Passion, Kiwi, Blueberry, Strawberry, Lemonade), and Milk Green Tea, Thai Milk Tea, Lemon Green Tea, Lemon Thai Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, and Chocolate Milk, others.
- Give clear instructions on the process of making coffee and the alternative activities.
- Conduct practical demonstrations on brewing methods and beverage crafting.
- Evaluate student performance through practical theoretical exams and other observations.
- Stay updated on coffee and beverage industry trends and innovations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students pursuing careers in the beverage industry.
- Other tasks assigned by the Directors/managers.
- Bachelor's Degree in or certification in coffee and beverage/food and beverage, hospitality, or a related field.
- Experience: Professional experience in the coffee or beverage industry, preferably in a teaching or training role.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective teaching.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in various brewing techniques and beverage preparation.
- Passion for Coffee: Deep knowledge and enthusiasm for coffee culture and beverage trends.
- Reporting: Immediate report on issues related to your course to Education Program Manager. Also, write reports monthly, quarterly, and yearly on the coffee & beverage progress.
- Planning: Prepare a monthly/Quartey/Yearly plan for the ongoing expenses (items and goods)
