Career Development Officer
Location: Phnom Penh (with Regular travel to the provinces with overnight stays (8-12 days/month).
Salary: starting salary USD 480-544.
Job purpose: To facilitate career development services that enable clients who are experiencing vulnerability to achieve their economic and career goals by consulting them to choose the appropriate career choices.
Job brief: The Career Development Officer works directly with clients and community stakeholders to pursue and achieve the client's career goals and prevent them from falling into trafficking vulnerability. Career Development Officer will assist to carry out the project implementation, including conducting surveys to select clients who are identified as experiencing trafficking vulnerability, local market assessment, clients' need assessment, identifying and mobilizing community resources. The Career Development Officer will provide quality facilitation of training and coaching to clients in the proper manner and aligned with the aims of the project.
- Conduct surveys to identify and select clients who are experiencing vulnerability through working collaboratively with team, churches, community, and local authorities at the selected target villages.
- Conduct needs assessment with the selected clients to identify their resources, skills, experiences, and desire that will help to address their career needs such as employment, vocational, agriculture and livestock, and entrepreneurship.
- Assist the local market survey at communes and villages' level to identify the existing and new market opportunity that suitable to clients' career goals including employment, agriculture and livestock, and entrepreneurship.
- Assist the development process of career development strategy through providing inputs from the survey and observations within the process of local market survey and clients' need assessment. · Provide consultation and on-going support to clients to help them address their career goals, review feasibility of their goals, and achieve these goals through career engagement.
- Organize and facilitate vocational and skills trainings as identified from clients' career goals and needs that enabling them to achieve their career successfully.
- Maintain support and positive relationship with clients, prevention community networks, and economic stakeholders.
- Monitor, assess and record client's progress towards the agreed goals, including revising plans and interventions in response to the results of this monitoring.
- Attend team meetings and briefings as needed to ensure excellent communication between all staff within the project and with other teams.
- Engage in ongoing personal development to ensure a comprehensive knowledge of key issues related to vocational development, economic empowerment, and work/career skills.
- Experience and knowledge
- Essential:
- Degree qualification in social work and/or agriculture, and/or business administration, and/or another relevant field.
- At least 2 years working experience in social work, or agriculture, or business sector.
- Able to work with a wide range of local authorities, community structures, and other stakeholders.
- Good understanding of using computers for main work tasks.
- Experience in facilitation meetings or training.
- Desired:
- Ability to travel, work, and stay overnight at the target provinces
- Ability to drive motor to target community at the province
- Experience and/or knowledge of trafficking issues.
- Attending and involved in a local church for at least 2 years
- Personal Qualities:
