Catholic Relief Services (CRS) was founded in 1943 by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to assist the poor and disadvantaged. CRS returned to Cambodia in 1991 and currently works in the sectors of Health and Inclusive Education, with approximately 15 local partners. A head office is located in Phnom Penh. CRS Cambodia is the hub office for Southeast Asia programming, including Myanmar, Vietnam and Laos.

Program Summary

ASPIRE is an initiative of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) that seeks to build local talent in the international relief and development field. Through this program, CRS will recruit highly qualified individuals from Cambodia, India, and the Philippines and champion their professional development by providing structured training, strong supervision and mentoring. While completing a comprehensive 12-month training plan, ASPIRE participants will hone their skills in four core areas and support critical programs. Upon successful completion, these professionals will have the opportunity to grow from entry-level positions to those of greater responsibility with CRS.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. Statistics, Demography, Economics, Social Sciences)
  • Most recent educational degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) conferred no more than 18 months prior to ASPIRE program start date of January 2022
  • Excellent speaking and writing skills in English
  • National of Cambodia
  • Willingness to travel (up to 30% of the time)
  • Ability to work respectfully and professionally in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • Desire to work in development and humanitarian field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (Master level or higher)
  • Six months or more of relevant work experience (may include internships, volunteer or paid work experience)
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, project management, proposal development and/or communications
  • Proficiency in Khmer
  • Female candidates are preferred
  • Experience and interest in facilitation and training
  • Willingness and proven ability to learn new software and applications
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Web Conferencing Applications
  • Experience in participatory action planning
