- Career Category: Call for Proposals, Consultancies
- Location: Siemreap Province, Banteay Meanchey Province, Oddar Meanchey Province
Project: Transforming Lives Through Nutrition (Transforming Lives) Program
Contract Duration / Timeline: November 2026 – January 2027
iDE Cambodia is seeking a qualified consultant or consulting firm to conduct an Effectiveness Study of Cooking Demonstrations delivered to farmers/caregivers with children under 5 years across Siem Reap, Banteay Meanchey, and Oddar Meanchey provinces.
This assignment falls under the Transforming Lives Through Nutrition program—funded by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and implemented globally by Helen Keller Intl, Vitamin Angels, and iDE. The program aims to improve the nutrition and well-being of underserved pregnant women, infants, and young children through stronger health and food systems.
In Cambodia, iDE supports this initiative by linking regenerative home gardens, agricultural training, and nutrition awareness with community cooking demonstrations facilitated by health staff, community actors, and project teams. These sessions utilize locally available, affordable ingredients to promote dietary diversity, appropriate food preparation, and age-appropriate complementary feeding—such as Bor Khab Krob Kroeung (BKK) porridge for children aged 6–59 months.
After more than two years of field implementation, iDE seeks to assess whether these cooking demonstrations are effectively translating nutrition knowledge into sustained household food preparation and child feeding practices.
The selected consultant will evaluate caregivers' knowledge and behavioral adoption, examine factors influencing practice adoption (such as food affordability, seasonality, and home garden access), assess delivery quality, compare participant outcomes against non-participants, and provide actionable recommendations to refine delivery and inform future program scale-up.
