Business Development Officer
Department: Marketing Unit
Reports to: Managing Director (MD)
Purpose
The Business Development Officer is a key role responsible for driving company growth by identifying new business opportunities, fostering client relationships, and managing the entire bid proposal process. This position requires strong organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with a senior leadership team.
Reporting:
- Submit regular reports to the MD on client follow-ups and business development activities.
- Provide a monthly report to the MD on all bidding efforts.
- Lead Generation and Client Management: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, particularly projects funded by organizations like the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and the World Bank (WB). Schedule and attend client meetings, documenting key discussions and following up to maintain strong relationships. Manage and regularly update the client database.
- Proposal and Contract Development: Collaborate with the Managing Director (MD) to develop and submit bid proposals. Prepare and finalize contracts with clients.
- Market Analysis: Assist the MD in monitoring the business environment, including tracking business opportunities, competitor activities, and potential partnerships. Maintain and update databases of clients, partners, competitors, and industry experts.
- Marketing and Communications: Manage the company's marketing efforts by updating the website and social media channels. Handle external communications and update the company's profile.
- Administrative and Support Duties: Provide administrative support, which includes daily monitoring of the company's email accounts, translating key documents, and updating expert CVs. Assist the project team with proposal submissions and other tasks as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing with a focus on international bidding.
- At least 3 years of experience in project management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively in diverse teams, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative approach.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and large group facilitation.
- Proven organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience in planning and executing events.
- Interpersonal skills, a high level of integrity, and flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
